Wait, it's the first I've heard of this.
I have no problem with it, we need a midfield coach, and he's one of the greatest midfielders of all time, surely he can assist a midfield who proclaimed "we could coach ourselves".
His main task will be to assist the next level of mids to take the next step. We need the likes of Sidebottom, Beams, J.Thomas, Fasolo etc to move into the midfield over the next 1-2 years to not only improve our depth in the area, but also to ensure that if we did lose a Pendlebury, Sidebottom or Wellingham next year to GWS, it won't hurt us as much as it would now.

Wouldn't that be Dale Tapping's role as midfield development coach??
As midfield coach part of his role will be running our set ups, rotations and also making sure our midfield stays the best in the comp! I mean no one here would know his full role, we would all be guessing, but we know the basics. For Pendlebury, swan, Thomas etc to learn off someone different like Harvey will just make them better. Scary for opposition!!!

Our development coaches act will as line coaches in the VFL and are assistants to the line coaches with the AFL group. All development coaches report to head developmeny coach McCrae.
So Tapping will most likely be doing more work and have more control with the VFL group than with the AFL group.

when RH was at the scum they commended the work he did alongside murphy,judd etc they say he has alot to do with the way Carlton's midfield evolved over the last 4 yrs or so...so with all the knowledge he brings to the table & from what is available I think we did real well ...would've preferred Scotty Burns

Prob is a done deal but I think that it will happen once Rocket Eade reports for duty after the International Rules series. We can then role them out officially together.

I'm losing track lol....today Rodney Eade said his primary role was "to coach the coaches" and help Bucks whenever he needs him. It's an amazing group of talent we are setting up. This makes Bucks beginning impressive because great leaders surround themselves with talented individuals. So much for Bucks ego.
Harveys commitment on the field will earn him respect, let's hope his message translates to the younger midfielders and rejuvenates the more experienced ones.

Interesting, that when Geoff Walsh was on 3AW tonight, the last question was regarding Harvey coming to Collingwood, and Walsh all but said it was a done deal, and it will be announced in the next few days.
So I guess the worst kept secret in the AFL will be made official soon.
