on Graham Cornes radio station early last year, Robert Walls was talking to Graham Cornes and said he thinks Essendon have recruited better then Carlton, By getting Ryder, Gumbleton, Hooker, Pears and Hurley which long term could see Essendon in a better position then Carlton. I was amazed because even he amited he was bias towards Carlton.
What are your thought on this?

really we have been pretty lucky getting a full spine of this quality, But for mine holds us in great stead for the future, Which I think we have just stepped into. Even luckier pulling off Bellchambers and now Heppell, in 2013 we get Daniher. Maybe the Stars Are Aligning.

FMD if Daniher is half as good as some are suggesting we are going to bring some serious hurt in two or three years.

And you forgot Fletcher, he has at least eight or nine years left in him.... :D

id take sidebottom over gumby tho :(

How would that work, adii?

Give him a break Whomb. This comment pails into insignificance when you consider the thread that he started at approx. the same time he made this post. The OP contained the line in 2009 we had an above average team that performed poorly. It is a bit disappointed to know that one of our supporters is a crack addict, although, having said that, everyone needs a time to support, addict or not!?!?!!!!???!?

If we got gumbleton and myers picks right we would be looking at a pretty impressive list.

Myers will come good. He has areas to work on but he is improving. 1-2 more pre-seasons and he'll be gold!

Was relatively impressed with some of Gumbleton's games in '10 but I must admit I don't like his kicking and he's not great when the balls on the ground. May be harsh but his engine has been spoken of for some time and I just haven't seen anything above average yet. I still hold high hopes but as has been said ad nauseum, injuries are restricting his development.
