Collingwood forward Anthony Rocca has been cleared of any wrong doing after the Magpie big man made contact with Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands during the recent Bartercard AFL Challenge Trophy clash in London.

Rocca, who missed the 2003 grand final after being suspended for two matches for striking Port Adelaide’s Brendon Lade in the second preliminary final, will not have to face any charge for the incident that occurred in the exhibition match.

AFL field umpire Corin Rowe, who officiated in the match and has just returned from overseas, reviewed the incident and was satisfied that no action was needed.

Rowe believed that Rocca was entitled to make contact with Sandilands and that the contact was not unreasonable.

He therefore said that the incident did not constitute a striking offence or rough play charge
