I am a big fan of Anthony Rocca (pebs) but if he doesn't perform this his bound to retire. His a bit of a passenger but I'd love to see him get up there and average about 2-3 goals games than I'd be happy. Your thoughts?

Yeh he really does need to perform because if Cloke does well this year, he may be dropped because he have Cloke to take his position, may even play a little bit of Ruck to put fraser down forward

Rocca is anything but a passenger. Being inconsistant is a fair criticism, but when he is on he is the freakin' driver.

Couldn't agree more.
He is one of, if not, the most important players at Collingwood.

He is the driver of the Collingwood bus.
He is our "Otto, the bus driver man"

Hale to the Bus Driver,
Bus Driver, Bus Driver.

Bus Driver Man. :D

Don't jump on big Pebs just yet. Last season he was coming back from a torn achilles missing 18 games and then comes out a kicks 50+ goals. His best output in a season.People bagged him for a poor season. How soon we forget the 1st half of the year.

Admittedly he kicked a couple of big bags against Hawthorn but all you can do is convert your opportunities.

I think more then 2007 for Pebs.

Im not bagging him but he kick most of his goals in the first half of the season and did nothing in the 2nd if he was coming back from an injury shouldnt the 2nd half of the season been better?

Rocca said he has some unfinished business to take care of before he retires. He wants to play in a premiership team I believe. So he's not thinking about retirement as we speak. And I don't think he has lost the urgency to play AFL football. Being the stalwart, I expect him to lead by example and contribute the bulk of the goals this year.

I guess he is a passenger when he's not peforming to his best, but when he is on he can change the course of a game in the space of a kick.

It is what he does, not what he is capable of. I couldn't care less what he can do, I only care about what he actually does.

Bottom line is he needs A LOT more consistency. Goes missing more than he should, especially when conditions are windy or wet.

Rocca is a massive key. When he fires we almost always win. In the 2002 GF he was almost the difference on a wet day. His last few years have been disappointing. Hopefully that is due to injury and not to age. 2007 is a big year for him. He’s had a full year to recover from his achillis and a full pre season to get fit. He should either fire or we will see the ageing and tailing off of a bloke that never quite reached his potential. Hopefully he has a few more really good years left in him but he has to stay sound for that to be any chance.

People can say what they like about Rocca, make no misatake about it he is our most important player. I cant remember the last game where he had a blinder and we lost!!!! When he is on fire, we are on fire!!!

He did go missing a bit towards the end of last year but lets remember he kicked 55 goals which was his best return so far in his career so i was happy with that!!

Medhurst will fill the void for Didak while he is away, but i think if rocca isnt kicking goals we will see medhurst move up the ground.
