I actually HATE KISS with a freaking passion. Especially Gene Simmons.

but it was a good show. I'll be watching again next week. That little bloke with the red hair who speaks elvish is a classic.

I was half expecting Rock School to be cheesy as hell but it seems to have been made well

I too admit to having given the most recent farewell tour a miss after forking out considerable hard earned to attend several farewell concerts in the past.

But in Gene's defence he's always been most open about the fact he's in it for the sex and the money.

During one of the farewell tours (circa 1997) Simmons was interviewed on ABC radio one morning. I think it was with John Faine but I could be wrong. It went something like this:

Faine - "After all these years do you feel a bit silly prancing around on stage covered in makeup?"

Simmons - (a snort, then a pause) - "John, do have any idea how much money we're making out of this tour?"

Faine (or whoever it was) had no comeback from here.

His persona may be contrived, but he's very amusing (and sometimes alarmingly smart) and you're never quite sure whether he's serious or just taking the pi$$.
