Just wondering where this came from...

Personally I wouldn't mind PROVIDED he gets a medical and his knees are fine (which he says they are..but older players always seems to say that)...I'd prefer to be playing genuine class off the bench than the likes of Longmuir and Chambers while the next generation of stars come through the ranks over the next 1-3 years. Its not like the kids we draft are going to walk straight into the side ...and Pagan's been complaining about being unable to rest the ball winners all year. He could teach the kids a thing or two and help out Kouta. Just cause he's old doesn't mean he can't make a contribition for another two or so years...Lappin and Campo are around the same age...BUT (and its a big BUT) you would want a clean bill of health and to do some speed tests on him...also you'd want to pick him up cheaply at the end of the draft...if he doesn't play well...put him on the LTI list a promote a rookie...no big deal...if Kouta gets injured I'd prefer James to Johnson/Clarke/Bowyer etc...its not like we would be sacrificing the future...we'd just need to delist one more of our many VFL stars and miss out on a kid at pick 80. Anyway, unless the guys got a huge mortgage to pay, can't see him having the desire to play for Carlton on the conditions we would probably offer him.

Although Roger James was traded to Carlton from Port a few years ago. Trade was agreed on, done and dusted, until they did not lodge the paperwork in time. What if..............

He may be worth a risk if we can get him with a late draft pick. He's a classy player that hasn't lost his skills, he's just been carrying injuries. If he can get over them like he claims he is, then maybe.
