Considering the Men's Qualifying draw came out last night, I'd figure it was time to start the thread.

Unluckily Guccione and Luczak have drawn each other in the first round of qualifying.:( Not sure who would win that one, considering they are both out of form.

Out of the other Australians: Kelin v Kevin Anderson
Matosevic v Antonio Veic
Sirianni v Fischer
Smeets v Elgin

Gaston Gaudio has also received a wildcard to the main draw:thumbsu:
He has been having some pretty good results in challengers in the last couple of weeks. Womens qualifying draw comes out tomorrow.

Guccione and Luczak start at 5pm tonight :thumbsu: As you said, both out of form so it's probably better they face each other so one of them gets a win. I think pete really should be able to take this one though.

As for the rest of the aussies, i doubt they'll win no matter who they face, I think smeets is looking for another beating. Old man Joe might have a chance in the 1st round. Klein or Marinko haven't been playing on clay so tough to see them doing anything really.

I don't think we have any women in the qualifying draw, I'm not sure Soph made it in, but I know Jess is out of qualies and Monique didn't enter (and for some reason is playing caly court challenger in South America, figure that one out )

Unluckily it seems that Sophie is the 1st alternate for the Qualifying Draw.:( I'm not sure how updated the list i am using is though, some more players may have withdrawn, so i guess we'll have to wait for the draw to be released.

Edit: Karin Knapp has pulled out, so Sophie has scraped into qualifying.

BTW does anyone know why the men's qualifying list has 128 players, while the women's only has 96?

Good news for Soph, now watch her lose froma winning position ror something along the lines of that

Don't know why it's 96, just the way it is, I think the US Open has both 128 draw but for the others there only seems to be 96

By the way, has anybody been able to find what exactly Nine's coverage will have?

Luczak takes the first set 7-6 (6). Guccione had a set point on his serve in the TB...

Yeah, hilarious, he had 6-4 in that TB, at 6-5 and serving he loses the next two points, typical.

Just saved a MP at 4-5 on his serve though, 5-5 now.

Following The Gooch's matches are fun, in the 2nd set TB, he had 6-4 again, wasted them again but this time around got the mini-break back at 7-6 and took his 3rd SP.

The match is into a 3rd set now.

EDIT: Also, Jelena's match in warsaw should start soon at 7, there might be livestream of this match. I'm going be up all night doing this assignment the way I'm going.

Luczak takes the break 4-3. Guccione hasn't looked like breaking so far.

Luczak win 7-6 6-7 6-4. According to the live stats Luczak hit 80 winners, to Guccione's 85. Considering they both won just over 100 points each, it seems like a ridiculously high number.

Pete takes it 7-6 (6), 6-7 (6), 6-4. Well Done Pete, would of been embrassing to lose to an out-of-form Gooch on clay i guess. Hopefully he can do something in the next round.

Hopefully we can get someone else through as well tonight.

He faces Zabelta or O.Rochus in the 2nd round, should be too tough for him. Sure he'll be happy with the win even if it was a retirement, considering he hasn't touched the clay before this.

Klein lost 7-6 6-0, while Smeets ended up losing in three.

Anyway tonight Matosevic v Olivier Rochus [22]
Luczak v Flock

And in the woman's qualifying out of 96 entrants Fegurson drew the only other Aussie, Rodionova. Does Rodionova have the same deal as Groth where she only represents Australia in Grand Slams?

Yeah, pretty much, with the rule that you have to live in the ccountry for a certain amount of time, same deal for both Groth and Rodionova.

Klein had a set point in that first set, disappointing he fell away.

Good stuff Soph

Got some bad news regarding the Roland Garros coverage on Nine. There actually isn't any live coverage, just one hour packages from the night before at around 12am the next night. Here I'm hoping for live coverage of the 2nd week but it looks to be relying on livestreams. Screw you Channel Nine

So i take it Foxtel isn't televising the 2nd week live?

That's pathetic from Nine, why even bother showing anything at all? I remember going back to the early part of this decade and Seven had a few hours of coverage most nights.

I hope this doesn't stop Fox from being able to show live coverage from go to wo. Although I wish we got the MS commentators...

I've been looking at Foxtel tv guide and they still have coverage Monday and Tuesday, so looks like they still are. the Nine guide I have seen doesn't cover that last sunday so they might have live coverage of the men's final as it's weird when Fox Sports announced their coverage that it wasn't exclusively live. hence, why i thought Nine was showing the second week in the first place.

Pete had 4 mp's and lost 10-8 in the third, Australians and choking  Really disappointing for pete, he hasn't been able to do much this clay season and qualifying could of really helped.

Matosevic lost 7-6, 6-3 to Rochus, good effort to win a round really, I hope his game suits the grass because looking at the stats of the first round he might have a big serve.

Sirianni and Ferguson our last 2 hopes tonight. Probably have a very small chance but here's hoping one of them pulls off an upset.

FFS checked the scores this morning and thought that Luczak had done all right, didn't know about the 4 match points. But like you said will be interesting to see how Matosevic plays on grass, Pretty good effort considering he hasnt played on any clay in the lead up.
