As someone who used to love watching Ronnie Burns play at Geelong, it was great to see him back to his best last week against the Eagles, getting a fair bit of the ball and kicking a nice goal in the last quarter.

What are your opinions on Ronnie so far at Adelaide??

An excitement machine when he's fit and firing - just as he was at the Cattery.

He adds another dimension to our forward 50 when he's in the mood.

How is Ben Finnin going?

He's a hot and cold footballer, but when he's hot he's really hot.

He had a great game against the Eagles.

If he has an even bigger one this week with a few more goals we'll win.

He's been rather enigmatic over the course of the season. Some games he'll look on fire with the ball at his feet in the forward line, others he's nowhere to be seen.

I'm not convinced he's in our best 22, but he certainly adds something to the forward line on a good day.

I reckon his match on Saturday might've been his best for the whole year. As well as doing the flashy things, he was also prepared to do the team things as well. I think he was even found inside a pack or two. His roving of the ball from Clarke's tap in the third quarter and handpassing to Ricciuto to goal was superb.

It's all or nothing with Ronnie - not much middle ground. Still his game on Saturday was excellent - he did the team things - therefore I think it was probably one of his best games of the season. Lets hope he can continue this week!

As everyone else has pointed out Ronnie is either hot or cold. When he is hot he is really hot. I love watching him play when he is on song. I am amazed as to how he sells a dummy everytime. Everyone in this league knows that he can't kick with the right foot yet everytime a play falls for the same trick and Ronnie moves onto his left to kick a goal. I am just amazed as to how dumb his oppentns are.

Generally Brisbane struglles to match up on nippy small forwards and thankfully we have Ronnie and Johncock to throw at them together with McLeod, Edwards and possibly Ladhams.

I wouldn't expect much from McLeod this week. He always has a stinker when Hart tags him. I am yet to see him play a good game on Shaun Hart.:(

He was sensational against the bombers and the eagles. I dont think he should be put in the midfield, put him in the pocket...hes the most lethal snap at goal in the AFL.

Plus he does good celebrations, which complement Andrew Mcleods celebrations.

No-one called Ronnie Burns at the Crows, but there is a Tyson BigCock.

In my view he's an essential player in a team that gets the ball into the 50 a lot (as Adelaide have done the past couple of years). But he's useless as **** on a bull when they don't, just like most other FPs. (Fwiw, DaveW he's in my best 22 when we play well - he is one of the best at converting those inside 50's into goals, something we desparately lack against the really good sides).

Much better when he concentrates on the ball instead of staging for frees. Undoubtedly the best crumber/goal sneak in the Crows line-up.

Very good point Carmello, because that's something we haven't seen for a while, Macca waggling his finger after another brilliant display of his roving skills to goal on the run.

We got exactly what I expected with Ronnie.

Mercurial (inconsistent).

Spectacular (one-sided - why kick a right footer when you can try and bend a left footed checkside?).

However, he laid two shepherds and a tackle on Saturday. That's two shepherds and a tackle more than I predicted when we acquired him.

He's not in my best 22 for Adelaide, and if Schuback has a good summer I suspect the coaches will agree with me.

Only chipped in a couple of times, but coach was happy with team approach. 3/10

That was Russell Holmesby's summation of Burns' game against West Coast in the player by player summaries of the match in today's Inside Football.

heck me. Did he watch the third quarter with his eyes closed or something?

Only chipped in "a couple of times"? Yeah, try 22 times. Equal third leading possession winner on the ground.

Just goes to show how much of experts these guys are:rolleyes: .

Fair Dinkum, Caro would have had a better crack of the whip:p

No doubt Ronnie has been at his inconsistent best, but he has played a crucial role (& kicked some important goals) in some of our wins. Also, he has added depth to our potential goal-kickers, which has been useful with all our injuries. The fact we gave up a player who wasn't likely to make it in the Crow's side means we virtually got him for nothing. With part of his salary being paid by Geelong is an added bonus. The suggestion that we traded for him when he is told doesn't stack up, as we didn't give up a gun young player for Ronnie. Hopefully, he can continue his form of last week & do some damage in the finals.
