Crows captain Mark Ricciuto has completed Wednesday’s main training session and is likely to be available for Saturday’s clash with Melbourne.
Ricciuto, who has not played football since round 20 last season, trained without hindrance working in Adelaide’s forward and midfield drills.
Ricciuto’s team mate Robert Shirley said the return of Adelaide’s only Brownlow Medallist was “inspiring”.
“He’s the greatest player we’ve had at the club so seeing him run around gives you a bit of confidence and I look forward to seeing him play,” Shirley said.
“The big fella is really keen and jumping out of his skin to play so we expect him to be back this week.”
Ricciuto’s availability is a welcome headache for Crows selectors who for the first time this season will pick a team from a squad with renewed depth.
“It is going to be a tough decision and luckily enough it’s not up to me,” Shirley said. “It’s a good position to be in and something we probably haven’t had in the last few weeks so it will be interesting to see who will have to make way.”
