Nick Maxwell was elevated this year for the injured forward Tom Davidson.

Collingwood has a full list, 39 players, 5 rookies.

Melbourne had to find space for Aaron Davey and had trouble doing the hard work.

Sydney had 6 rookies and elevated Paul Bevan because they had room as the 39th senior player. Aaron Rogers must have replaced injured Jarrad Sundqvist.

Nathan Lovett-Murray could fit on as a 39th player

So is Leonard on the list?

This is from what I wrote in another thread...

At the start of the season (no long-term injuries) Collingwood were able to nominate one rookie-listed player to be eligable for senior selection, due to our veteran situation. (Which was Zane)

Maxwell was promoted on Thursday for Tom Davidson, so both boys (Zane and Nick) are able to play.

Zane Leonard is still a rookie-listed player, but he can play seniors whenever he is needed (with the next 3-4 weeks if you ask me), and Maxwell can play seniors for the rest of the season, and due to the fact that every single rookie to ever be promoted has debuted, you'd think we'll see him this year.

Collingwood has alot of expectations of him so he certainly will play if fit and ready. The only problem is that collingwood consists of too many midfielders.

Where would he play?

Not sure about the injury but from what i gathered in the pre season hes not much of a player, personaly I would much rather see Brayden or Heath Shaw get a game. Brayden had huge wraps on him and Heath has been in awsome form this year in the VFL and played another very solid game this week.

Not too sure where you heard that, seeing as he was pretty much our best player V's Sydney in the practice match...

Brayden is a gun, but has done absolutely nothing to deserve a sport in the seniors (unless you call getting 10 touches a week warrented form).

Heath was terrific in the pre-season praccy games, but his form dissapeared so much so that he was playing Willy reserves a month ago.

Zane our best in the practise game against Sydney? what game were you watching? had absolutely no impact on the match and either did Rhyce or Heath. Yes but wasn't Heath only playing ressies because WIllie had a bye??

Zane tagged Stuart Maxfield out of the game in his first ever outing in a Collingwood jumper.

I say he was great.

Not sure about the 'bye' situation, but I'm quite sure he was actually dropped. He's in better form than his cousin / brother at the moment, regardless.

I din't think he got much time on the ground, I was there but can't exactly recall. No Doubt Heath is in better then form then Rhyce and Brayde, not too sure with the ressies thing i know that he played for the reserves when Willie had a bye.

If Zane is fit I'd like to see him come in for Nixon who has shown nothing from admittedly limited opportunities. I haven't really ever rated Nixon though so perhaps that clouds my judgment. Saw Zane only in the Swans praccy match and he looked a good mover and had decent poise which is a good sign in a young player. As for Brayden, I don't think his form warrants senior selection but neither does Lokan's or Mullings senior form warrant retention. I'd like to see Heath and Brayden get a game very soon before Burns and Bucks are back just to see what they are like in the AFL. If Rhyce plays a good one this week I’d recall him for a stint as well. Unlike so many I haven't given up on him. We need his pace and we need him to be confident enough to use it.

You make a good point many players in the team don't deserve theire opportunities because of lack of form. I think that if you're going on form you would't be able to pick 22 players.

I hadn't formed an opinion on Nixon prior to this season. From the three games he has played for Collingwood I would be very surprised if he makes the grade. I don't know if it is stage-fright or lack of ability but he just doesn't seem to know what to do.

They should teach Nixon too pick up the ball. It bloody annoys me when he trys to pick up the ball and fumbles. Nearly everytime he went to get the ball on saturday night he fumbled the ball.

He did play well when he came back on. He didn't look like much (weight, strength) but he did play alright on the wing/half-back line. Was our 3rd best against Power and was in our best against Melbourne.

IMO seems to be overated because of his speed and athletic ability (like Croad).
