Having Gunston as that 3rd tall yes it will help us a lot, it will make our forward line much stronger. But why wouldn't we put Hale at FF for most of the game time just until Roughead comes back? I like Hale up forward more then in the ruck tbh.

I think we become too predictable with Hale parked at Full forward. Both in how we deliver the ball, and how Hale plays. For mine, he's far more effective when he can play in bursts.

Hey, don't sweat about Roughy. All looks good and the club is being very cautious and leaving no stone unturned to ensure the best possible outcome.

Well for starters your club's development is rather ordinary. How long's it been since you were in the finals? 2007? Only 1 finals appearence in the last 9 years. BTW i'm talking about North, not Richmond.
All the promise with high draft picks and yet North have achieved nothing. Hawthorn have been able to develop most of theirs (not all but all bar 2 is a good ratio) as well as their late draft picks too.

As for BHH, they spend time throughout the year training with Hawthorn at Waverley. The Hawthorn Football Club use their alliance with BHH to help their player's development. Why do you think North take BHH players over North Ballarat and Werribee?

2008 actually and 2005 before that.............your club "achieved nothing" for 17 years after 1991; we've still got time.

So we can claim the Big O and Mick Barlow as our own because they played for our affiliates..........right

Didn't you guys go long on ruckmen a few years ago? Or am I losing my marbles?

I just have this image that you had more rucks than anyone. 5 maybe? Maybe 08 or 09?

2008 we had 6 Ruckmans
Campbell
Taylor
Bailey
Renouf
McEntee
Walsh

2009 We also had 6 Ruckmans
Campbell
Taylor
Bailey
Renouf
Walsh
Lowden

2012 We will also have 6 ruckmans
Bailey
Hale
Lowden
Grimley
McCauley
Pattison (More a Utility then a ruckman)

Pretty much since 2008 we had a minimum of 5 Ruckmans on our list.

Interesting draft philsophy we have taken for both National and pre season.

Bolsted an area with ready mades - Mcauley and pattison for the rucks. Not world beaters but players who can look at been 3rd/4th cab off the rank within that position.

All other picks, maybe apart from Woodward, are high risk selections. They are boom or bust selections. We have made enough of them (4 in total, 2 rookie, 2 national) in a so called shallow draft pool this is if 1 comes off we are ahead.

I suspect within 3 years only 2 of the 4 will still be on the list. Which 2, I do not know.

Interesting view. I could see guys like Boseley not given more than 3 years to show significant improvement and obviously anything could happen with Frank. But I'd say both of Hill and Kelly would be unlikely to be given less than that amount of time. Especially given Kelly is a KPD which take at least 3 years to come good and Hill is the kind of player who might take a while . . . I'd say Woodward is the most at risk of the ND boys given the type of roll he plays he would need to be showing good form in the VFL pushing for senior football by his third season or he is out.

Collingwood's 2010 premiership team had 7 former rookies in the line-up, which is extremely impressive.

Love to think we could match this soon with the likes of Bruest, Suckers, Schneider, Wanga, Langers, Amos and one of Boseley, McCauley and dare I say it Patto.

C'mon Hawks, bring it on!

Keep it simple I say mate - just include Sewell, Osborne, Youngy and Josh Gibson (Roos rookie list) instead as your former rookies

OK mate you got me there. I was thinking fresh meat, and the rookie succession plan :D

Is there a limit on the number of senior games a rookie can play? anyone can answer?

A bit strange isn't it. Does not look like anyone picked him(Nelson) up.

Also, midway through the year we were linked to Bussy with our first pick, did he get picked up?

Am stoked with getting Patto and Big Mac.

For the sole reason of planting Rough solely at FF herewithforth and that's it!

End of story

Now the only thing left is for Dunstall to work with him on the art of body work and kicking straight. Even if Roughy has lost abit of spring because if his injury, should not affect him, Dunstall never got off the ground too much, used his strength to stand his ground, and last minute lunged forward at the ball.
