Peterss talks about the season ahead

Rottnest razorbacks coach Peterss has today faced a press conference at Rottnest HQ to give his thoughts and comments on his side and much more heading into the coming season.

"I was happy enough with how we played in 2009 as after all we do have a young list and they can only get better with experience....We were literally very close to a finals spot last season so we will definately be trying to make the finals and make and impact during them aswell."

When asked about delisting's so far Peterss had this to say.

"Well Adam Simpson has retired with a year remaining on his contract so obviously he's the first one....We would like to thank Adam for his season at Rottnest as we bought him to the club as we wanted an experienced midfielder and his performances each week for us this season were tremendous...We wish him al the ebst in retirement."

"The others to have been told their services are no longer requires are Dan McKenna, Henry Playfair and the rookie lsited Liam Bedford....The list management team are continuing to work through the list so there may be mroe at a later date but there may not be - Wait and see."

When asked about possible tradebait during the trade period he had this to say.

"I always try and keep things like that close to my chest but Brent Staker and Adam Thomson have both put in a request to be traded if a suitable agreement can be met as has Brett Jones...We will be talking to these players in the near future to see which clubs they would like to move to and also talking to other clubs to see if they are interested at all."

And finally he was asked if his club will be active in trade period and what players they will be looking for.

"We would be looking at bringing over a more senior/experienced ruckman....We have Naitanui and Tippett who we both rate very highly but with the club wanting Tippett to play more of a forward role that leaves us with naitanui and hes still onyl very raw so if we can bring in a ruckman to help out our young rucks then we are all for it....Apart from that we have to wait to see whats clubs throw up as trade bait from their respective sides and then obviously if there are any players we are interested in we will try make a play for them"
