Roughy's Injury progress

Given that he will basically have no poper pre season a mid year return looks more likely.

No point bringing him back to early.

I strongly disagree. It's mid December with 4 months until rd 1.

Toughie has six to seven pre seasons experience. He is and has been building strength based on a program since the surgery. If you remember Andrew russells assessment of Clinton young in 2010, experienced players can reach full fitness starting training in January and be in peak fitness by round 1. I'd say rough is on track but I'm sure we will not risk him if he is anything less than 100 per cent.

Can't wait to see the big rough!!!

Maybe, guess I am being pessimistic about it.

I am assuming he is coming of a relatively low fitness base and won't be doing full training for a while yet.

Fingers crossed I guess.

No, your first post was accurate imo.

The boy is just starting to run so he will need a several months just to get match fit. Players dont "keep" match fitness, they have to constantly work at it. There are numerous examples of players having poor years because of hampered pre-seasons so I think GH should refine his expectations somewhat.
Mid year I reckon is about right which would mean firing for finals.
