I know its been done before, but having seen some nab form now, here goes...

Hayden McPharlin Parker
Mundy Grover Johnson
Headland Haselby Peake
Crowley Pavlich Tarrant
Farmer Murphy Longmuir

Sandilands J Carr Bell

Inter: Duffield Browne Solomon Dodd

Duffield in for M Carr
Walker unlucky after last week
Black injured? if fit he's in for someone?? maybe dodd

Its still hard!

Hayden McPharlin Grover

Mundy Dodd Black

Peake Haselby Walker

Headland Pavlich Cook

Farmer Tarrant Murphy

Ruck: Sandilands Bell JCarr

IC: Mcarr Longmuir Johnson Crowley

What do you do with?
Solomon
Drum
Mcmanus
Duffield
Browne
Hadrill
Gilmore
Thornton
Parker

Murphy will need to perform as I think we maybe playing too many talls and we may tire in the midfield towards the end of games. we may need more versatile players.

Tarrant Pav and JLO is enough tall targets forward for my liking.

Hayden McPharlin Grover
Mundy Johnson Dodd
Black JCarr Hasleby
Crowley Murphy Tarrant
Longmuir Pavlich Farmer

Ruck: Sandilands MCarr Bell
Bench: Peake, Solomon, Headland, Drum

Parker misses out for mine - but probably ain't going to happen
Haddrill can't play if McPharlin is Full Back for mine
Walker is still behind in pecking order
Cook is unlucky but Solomon is bigger
McManus I can't see getting a game unless injuries
Duffield is being groomed as a half forward...will take some time in Wafl
Browne has good pre season form but is behind in pecking order
Thornton is just great back up down back

With no Tredrea for Round 1, I think we'll have enough defenders going in with my team & will really stretch Port's defenders with our marking power up front. The run off the bench in the 2nd half will be awesome.

I'm with you Plugga, with some little quibbles;

You seem to accept that MacPharlin is going to play FB, but hold onto the idea that Pav will play FF??? The indications are that he will be CHF, Murphy at FF. The reality is of course there will be heaps of rotating in and around the goal square-forward 50.

I'd have Headland on the wing in place of Hasleby, and Hase in the pocket in place of Longmuir. Once again there will be rotations, but Headland was on fire delivering the ball to the forwards against WC, and has more pace than Hase. And there are plenty of talls up forward especially given the success of whoever was rucking simply drifting forward last week. We have plenty of tall backs who can take a drifting opposition ruckman, whereas our ruckman drifiting forward seemed to change the colour of the pants of the oppostiion backmen, and require their ruckman to go with him; meaning that Cox became a tagger for Sandilands instead of a playmaker.

Hayden McPharlin Grover
Mundy Johnson Dodd
Browne J Carr Peake
Solomon Pavlich Headland
Farmer Murphy Tarrant

Ruck- Sandilands Crowley Bell
Int- M Carr Longmuir Hasleby Parker
Emer- Cook Duffield Drum

Assuming Black isn't ready. If he is then I guess Browne is the unlucky one. Murphy needs to perform in the next 3 weeks and again in the early part of season proper or Campbell/Drum will take his spot. Parker and Matt Carr are the other two with real pressure on their spots in the team.

Giving the old fellas a rest on the bench dom?

A forward line consisting of Tarrant, Pavlich, Solomon, Murphy and Longmuir is too top heavy IMO (especially at Subi). Longmuir should only be in the forward line if Pavlich is on the ball, Tarrant or Solomon are on the wing or Murphy is on the bench.

Matt Carr is the 22nd player picked, and Parker's place in the side is in jeopardy if he has lost a yard of pace.

CC said Pav would play more deep this year....you can bet as soon as Tarrant is 100% he will be playing deep, probably FF. I like Murphy across half forward with Tarrant, both lead strong, long & quickly which will counteract other people's assertions that we will be too top heavy. Pav will act as leading FF, JLo stick in the square & The Wiz can go whereever his wand takes him

hayden parker dodd
