That was a heartstopper.
Lots we did badly, but at least they played with grit in that last quarter, as players were going down everywhere. And Aleer, at the end, huge contested marks.

Briggs, Haynes, Weir, Idun, Peatling were immense.

A great effort, some execution issues.
I wonder how we use Aleer best when Buckley comes back. A good problem to have in that area.
Midfield is a concern injury wise.
Greene might have to play there more.

Aleer and Peatling have saved us with insane D50 marks, late in separate games.

We wanted grit and we got it. Finding a way to win is special.
Geelong looked overconfident and had to raise a level (with some help from our own guys and the umps) to get ahead.

Incredible win!
We weren't perfect in any way, but played with heart and gave it absolutely everything. What an awesome game.

The bye couldn't have come at a better time.
Apart from those already on the Injury List, for this game:
Ward crook and withdrew.
Coniglio subbed out.
Perryman and Callaghan both had work done on their hamstrings.
Briggs was limping in the last quarter but played his best game for ages.
Toby landed on a team mates foot and twisted his ankle (still kicked a ridiculous goal).
Gee whizz - looking at all those injuries, this has to be one of the gutsiest wins in years.

Not bad from a kid in his 7th game.
Absolutely loved the team waiting to sing the song while he was out there taking selfies & signing autographs. As one person said on twitter, once he took the first selfie he wasn’t leaving until everyone got looked after - great character.
