Have to laugh. Pre-game (and even during the game thanks to the ***** Footy commentators) the talk was about how bloody wonderful Tom Lynch was. And he is a legit star forward capable of winning games off his boot. So Sir Dane of House Rampe shuts him down to one goal and nine touches, but hasn't gotten a mention in any of the medias votes. I know it was wet so Lynch was never going to kick a bag, but every time it went near Lynch, Sir Dane of House Rampe was wearing him like a glove (legally. See: May, Rance). On top of that, Sir Dane of House Rampe gets 23 touches of his own, simultaneously owning the roles of key defender, rebounding defender, and intercept defender all at once.

Is it possible we have the best defender, best midfielder, best ruckman and the best forward in the competition right now?

Niceeee :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Haven't watched any of the game yet, but that's the 4th consecutive match in which we've lost the clearances. Do we think this is an area of concern or is it more by design? The great Geelong teams of the late 2000's were well known for almost conceding the clearances but ensuring that they were scrappy and rushed and backing themselves to win the footy back and score on the turnover. Could we be trying something similar?

Not all clearances are the same however. A better stat is scores or inside 50's from clearances.

No use having 10 more clearances than the opposition, if all of them end up being rushed and result in turnovers the other way for scores.

I don't have the stats but would love to see how we are going in relation to our scores from clearances and also turnovers from opposition clearances. I would hazard a guess we are top 6 in both of those.

with so many good things going on with our young guns, Gaz, Danes form, the budstar etc, it is easy to overlook the progress of Jakey Lloyd. He is consistently having an impact this year. Has become a solid player whose involvement invariably leaves us in a better field position

Well against #lolnorf live at the game it was obvious that #lolnorf had 2 their goal side unmarked for the majority of the first three quarters and we made no attempt to mark them up. It was hit there a lot as well. Concession? Poor coaching? Poor on field direction? No idea.

Sir Dane of House Rampe says September is coming. :D

i mentioned a few weeks ago that jones needs to be released into the mids and since horse has done it, hes been very good. that kick to rohan yesterday in the conditions was awesome

+I believe that the jigsaw is nearly complete and the final piece of the puzzle is ...................................................................................................................Sam Reid.

A message for Sammy (and Horse),

The time is right for you this year. We need you to make an impact, mate. For heaven's sake, don't rush back into the seniors. Take your time and get your body (and mind) right in the 2's, even if that means another five weeks. We need you fit and confident come September. You've missed a lot of games and your career form has been patchy to say the least. But, I liken you to Rohan in that you can give us that extra x factor in the finals, whether that is at CHF as a marking target (taking the heat off Buiddy by drawing one of the opposition's better defenders) or as a wingman/swingman providing an outlet from defence and a marking target through the middle. I believe that your marking, speed and mobility will be a nightmare for opponents to match up with you and i've seen enough of you to know that you can be a matchwinner on your day (and your day is coming soon!) . Sammy, you owe us big time and this year would be a very good time to come good on your undoubted potential. We need another target up forward Sammy and that target is you. If you are firing come finals time I am confident we can go all the way.

Stevie

And, by the way..(forgot to mention earlier).............

Laidler can take a fantastic grab in the wet AND.....Lynch, is a player of the canine variety for his act in this game. (Not allowed to call him a d_g )

Worse was when Bloatstall made a comment of Rampe looking tired having never had to play on an aerobic beast like Lynch. Isn't Rampe one of our top 5 runners or thereabouts?

Reinjured his foot so not for at least 6 weeks. Was added to the LTI list a couple of weeks ago.
He didnt re injure. When he ran for the first time he had excruciating pain so has to rehab some more. A work colleague of mine is Michaels Aunty and thats whst she told me

Done for year just about then really

No my source tells me 6 weeks

So round 17

If on time

Play reserves a few weeks, be hard to get back in late or finals given he has played one game at the club

Cutting it fine at the very least

1. The Sinclair knockers seem reluctant to acknowledge when he has a good game, was solid yesterday. Love how he crashes in.

2. Shaw has been been great for the reserves players and getting them well prepared for seniors, doesn't seem to be too much of a change of pace for the players coming in this year. Marsh and Rose look at home at the level.

3. Gary Rohan, a revelation.

3a. I am genuinely enjoying watching the Swans again. Used to dread wet slogs but that was a great win, and even our losses have been great games.

In a funny way its easier to plan structurally for losing the clearance than winning it.

Seriously, how those moronic commentators did not raise an eyebrow at the absolutely farcical 50 awarded against McVeigh??? Yet they were the same bunch who applauded the sniping snot Lonergan for 'looking after Gaz' saying there is not much in that....just an absolute joke.
