The opposition have been setting up the same since Collingwood. Flood the corridor/backline and hit us on the rebound. It's now stopped our run and dash. We combated that well in the first half with uncontested possession, but struggled to get the ball 2nd half. This is also why we are so poor with our accuracy. Getting forced out wide. It's definitely a problem.

I kinda thought we didn't really deal with it too well in the first half. I thought we were lucky with that burst of goals in the 2nd. Apart from the burst of goals in the 2nd qtr, we dominated possession but forward entries were ordinary, which is why the bulldogs we're ahead in the 2nd.

You can beat the flood with precision kicking.. sometimes. You can also ise speed, and pace to either break through it, or move quick before the flood sets up. We so neither.

They sent Freijah to Newc at half time, really blanketed him.

He had two people hanging of him all first half. It's cruel we send him out there and expect the amount of outcome he delivers every week. He'll wear himself out big time if things don't change

Umpiring. **** me. The way we were playing we may not have won anyway but in the third the umps may as well have kicked it for them. But umpiring is as good as ever apparently. Croft kicked 2 from absolute trash and the non mark for Lewis in the last is an absolute joke

Clearances: without looking at stats we absolute got caned. Needs to be addressed.


A positive that despite a terrible performance and umpiring we lost by only a goal. We won't lose to them again but this is the type of game that we would cost us Top 4.

To me we are in the log jam of good teams that aren't good enough to win a flag

Also I just remembered how much I hate losing to these pricks. Clubs like them and Saints are rubbish clubs we should never be losing to

Was sitting behind the city goals. We totally lost our defensive shape in the last quarter. We were all over the place. Ginni made a lot of mistakes, especially when down back. We will learn from this.

I was sitting behind the city end goals tonight and I was blown away by how poor our goal kicking was.

I mean the missed shots weren't just missing by a meter or so, they were spraying shots all over the joint. If they were shooting free throws they would have been changing them of the front of the ring!

To me the game turned after Ginni took a mark 35 m out on a slight angle (3rd quarter I think) and I watched him come in to kick at goal and he did this huge arc to the right like he was roosting it from 60m and he barely made the distance for a point! It was the weirdest set shot routine I've seen in a long time.

You could just feel the whole side give a silent sigh after he misses and the bulldogs went on a run and piled on goals.

And my goodness Meeks shots on goal tonight would have made Baby Jesus cry

Those easy misses are just team crushing. It shows why Gunners is so valuable as he just gives maximum value for the effort. We really, really, really missed the old bugger tonight.

First half is a fun watch, second half is torture

Did they think if we continued to switch the footy from side to side and then stop all night that the Dogs might eventually stop running and just let us have some space? It felt like those were the coach's instructions anyway.

The stuff around half time and Sicily's antics were embarrassing really. We're celebrating a goal in the second quarter in a home & away game by pushing a teammate to ground and jumping on him? Watson should have been told to pull his head in after his language in the post-game fox interview last week and then he does this at half time?

I thought we had grown out of this stuff, it's not impressive to anyone but themselves.

I prefer watching the replays of lost games now. You learn more. I never used to watch them… however you can really see who is real and who isn’t when the heat is on.

Ward was great, ok is a massive understatement.

Worked his ass off, strong in the contest, linked up well.

Ball use is still a level above a lot, his burst speed too. The one where he burst from the centre was awesome. Few other incidents too, he and Day are perfect with the little one percenters too.

Who on our list is genuinely tough? We have so many mentally weak footballers who love to crack on when the game is on our terms but go missing when it gets tough. It is just not good enough.

Barrass, battle, Impey, Hardwick, Newcombe, day, D'Ambrosio, Ryan, bmacdonld, Watson, scrimshaw, Greeves, Anderson, hill, Lewis, blank, butler, Dalton, leray.

Being generous to some of them young ones I've seen toughness from and not seen evidence to the contrary.

But those I didn't name but who should be tough given their roles in the team is alarming. And I'm not wrong about any of them.
