It’s been a tale told too many times this season.

Accuracy, oddly enough, matters. And if we cannot get this right, it doesn’t matter how good the rest of our game is, we will never use the advantages it reaps.

It’s a really worrying trend for me now.

Well its a bit like the Wizard missing his first 20 shots at goal. Once he shook that off he never looked back If you're going to pick one thing that can turn quickly it's your conversion, certainly as opposed to your entire mid field and defensive game plan. I think statistically it has to turn at some point. Getting Gunston, Barrass and Nash back wont hurt either. The truth is we would need to pinch the flag this year anyway. We are quite a bit off Freo even though we sort of pushed them in Perth. Their best is significantly better than ours. These losses make that even more clear to me and i see this year as a bit of hail mary. We need to be very deliberate in how we improve in the off season though if we want to be a flag favourite in 2027.

Tired of the way we go to sleep and let teams get run ons against us. We shouldn’t be losing when we are 5 goals up.

That second half was insipid. 1 goal 11 is shocking. We went to sleep and we played dumb football. It was excruciating to watch.

Even with all the flooding we had enough chances to win and we should’ve won comfortably.

I’m tired of Sicilys bullshit. Just play the game. You’re meant to be the captain and a leader. Stop being a baby. I hate it.

And Meek, I love you but it’s time. He’s devoid of all confidence at the moment. He needs to be dropped to the reserves to find some confidence. Run with Reeves in the ruck and Chol pinch hitting.

We need to find a way to be more efficient and smarter going inside 50 when teams flood us. Desperately need Gunston fit, which is a worry because we rely on him so much for our fwd structure. We’re screwed when he retires.

Nash not playing also hurt us as he usually does well against the Bont who tore us a new one in the 2nd half.

Newcombe and Impey were immense.
Day was also in our best.

Disappointing to let another one like that slip that we should have won.

I think it's a good endorsement of the list and the system to have generated so many chances and dominated posession and territory so much with so many players playing poorly. But it means that it's a real scrap for top 4 from here. Suns, Giants, Demons and Blues coming up. Go 3-1 there and I think we sail to the double chance.

Gameplan. It's very taxing, invites the opposition to always kick they're way back into the game. We were bloody inaccurate but we would of got found out sooner or later anyway.
Ive said before but alot of skinny, weak players out there that can't tackle, saints are not great and they're coached by old school Ross, we looked better than what we are against them.

On a positive BMac continues to show he belongs, thought he was better than Amon

100% but Perez isn’t young has given away double digit free kicks away in 2 weeks. Straight up not good enough.

Sicily doesnt have a leadership bone in his body. Newcombe ia struggling to lead and play his game (hes developing that aspect though)

Day in provides some, but he is still getting used to things again

I normally praise ginnivans leadership, but he had a stinker in that regard

Balldrop is key for bad goalkicking, but they wont address that for whatever reason

I also think we still arent enjoying our footy. It has clarko feel about it, a lack of personality out there. Our best runs of form are when the characters come out

do something about the obvious issue, if we're doing too much work on goal kicking, then the answer might be to do less, just fix the problem, our counterattacking leaves us open for joe the goose goals when oppo runs forward, even richmond could win against us if we cant kick over 71 points with 63 i50s (+20)

On another note… yet ANOTHER team turn into a sniper squad in front of goal and miss absolutely fk all. How do teams keep doing this?

It's not really that complicated, it's a standard Terry Wallace flood. We can't find a target for good shots so bomb it long and it gets punched through or we shank it like Watson and Ginnivan because we are beyond comfortable distance.
Then on turn over they have space everywhere and generate easy shots. They missed their share too and just had more easy shots. We had some easy shots that we totally blew though. Meek x2, day, Chol, Lewis, Ginnivan x47, Weddle, MacDonald.

Unfortunately probably true. A bit slow. A bit nerv-ey. Certainly not finding a way to use his kicking weapons. He tries hard which makes me not want to mark him down.

But there's a reason we threw Bodie and Perez around to get Dimma back in defence when we had no connection with the forwards and Mitch hobbling. Can't imagine those boys hold their places.
