This Adelaide and Essendon matchup is making me wish the Crows still had a yellow clash jumper. Is there a single matchup that’s better for them having a red clash jumper instead? I guess against Hawthorn but their home is probably a better contrast than a red jumper.
Even their home would have been better, more yellow 😮

Obviously didn't take into account it would be the fourth/fifth/sixth neverending Indigenous Indoctrination rounds
It’s NAIDOC week, aka a nationally recognised thing that has been around for a long time

Interesting that Geelong used their clash jumper today for a home jumper, not that it matters but would like to know which instruction below led to it:

1: Club wanted to use both Navy and white based one at different games in Geelong.
2: North requested to do this one off jumper as a revenue raiser and Geelong agreed to it.
3: AFL decided that Geelong should always be presumed to be in white down in Geelong.

I think the most intriguing part for me is that Geelong themselves are calling the white one the clash Indigenous jumper when it's more akin to their home jumper than the blue one is.

All this talk over what teams wore over the past two weeks is starting to really annoy me. Like yes there was a major colour clash between Brisbane and West Coast which could've been avoided, but oh well it happened and we just move on. Clubs can wear whatever they want, just think back to 2021, Giants wore their indigenous guernsey in round 7, not because it was NAIDOC week, indigenous round or some significant moment that meant they 'had' to wear it. They wore it because they felt like it, and because it didn't clash with the other team, no one had an issue with it. (They could have had a reason for wearing it that I am unaware of please correct me if I'm wrong).

My weekly predictions are only there to give me, someone who loves the whole matchups of kits each week, a view into what the round could look like, I'm barely ever right and that's fine by me. Personally, I was a little unaware of NAIDOC week being the past few weeks, (I've really been behind this year), but even if I was switched on when I posted the other night, I probably wouldn't have changed what I guessed could happen, because I'm not, and I don't think any of us are making the decision for each club, each week. So all we can do is sit back, watch the footy and not complain about what our team wears. Unless it's a serious clash of colours, then maybe complain.

While I don't really care for how many times they wear the Indigenous kits, it raises the question why not just move Indigenous Round to NAIDOC Week? Seems pretty logical and you could bookend the week with clubs wearing one design and then maybe an alternate design. Have two weeks for Indigenous kits, one week for Heritage kits and one week for Gather Round kits is how I'd have it.

There were 2 issues with the Geelong v North game on Sunday which both could’ve been easily avoided. Firstly, Geelong had only gained a permit to wear their indigenous jumper 2 weeks prior to the game - giving North not a lot of time to remove a potential clash. Secondly, North’s current clash/away jumper doesn’t serve its purpose and had we come up with a proper blue guernsey in the first place it wouldn’t have been as frantic.

I'm not threatened. Wear them once or twice not 5-6 times a year. Do clubs wear Pride jumpers or Retro round jumpers 5-6 times a year? No.
Do you know what indoctrinate even means? What, do you think if I see too many indigenous designs I might suddenly convert to...being indigenous? Or something?

You obviously have no idea. The AFL are the most radical left wing organistation around. The CEO said so as much himself. You're being brainwashed with all sorts of social issues and don't even realise it. The Voice to Parliament is one example. If you think the AFL should be so heavily involved in Politics you probably think MP's should be replaced with Footy Players in Parliament.

Ah there it is, you're one of those. Just another bigoted cooker. Radical left wing? With a CEO who's good mates with notorious left winger Peter Dutton? A league sponsored by left wing industries like mining, gambling and alcohol? I guess it must be hard for someone like you to comprehend that not everything in life is about white, Christian males. Next time both of your brain cells activate at the same time, how about you regurgitate your stream of shit somewhere else and not come on to this board complaining that we're celebrating Indigenous players too much. That bigoted shit doesn't belong here.

You're eaily manipulated I see. Like the majority. Major morons.

I agree with you but you do realise the irony in calling out bigotry while also saying this? I'm not even sure how being a Christian even comes into this.

I don't mind the currrent usage of the indegenous jumpers, Sir Doug Nicolls Round for the first time had the 2 weeks with ALL games using them, few clubs used them for Naidoc week, then used a couple of times in the NT, Its about right, they have an impact they are not over used and I think represent what they need to.

Looking at the AFLW, I think the value of them are lost a bit with them being used as a clash jumper, they are just part of the furniture and are not really noticed, so I think its at a sweet spot, need to be used more then once, but anything over their current usage and they just become a jumper which I dont think is what there intention is.

I think eventually teams will follow Geelong & Sydney and uise them for more than 1 year, as I think the work that goes into them they should be used more than 1 year.

I think I asked this during one of the Indigenous Rounds, and the consensus here was that it’s probably so the AFL get their own time to be the focus in that area. When everyone’s doing something then it no longer has the same impact. And that follows during NAIDOC week when only a few of the clubs are wearing theirs, it’s far more distinctive.
