They reported that his Hammy is worse than expected and that he will most likely be out until round 20...Not sure what to beleive...

Thanks brada, if we in fact diagnosed a 'hamstring' we should send our doctor to Essendon. Early days...but, shit will hit the fan if true

Don't give Crams any chance for us, expect Pears to come in, Carlisle to go forward.

Can't bring myself to wish you guys luck, let's just go with please God no injuries. Pfft, who am I kidding, we are Essendon :(

Did you honestly believe Mark Evans when he said it was a two to three weeker? Would not surprise me if we don't see him for a while yet. Frustrating.

Ins and Outs since last time they met. Hawthorn 23.8.146 def Essendon 12.9.81

Essendon INS: Baguley, Carlisle, Hardingham, Hooker, Dempsey, Crameri, WInderlich, Gumbleton, Browne and Lovett-Murray
Essendon OUTS: Zaharakis, Prismall, Myers, Pears, Welsh, Hibbered, Ryder, Hurley, McVeigh and Lonergan

Hawthorn INS: Roughead, Gunston, Stratton, Young and Schoenmakers
Hawthorn OUTS: Bateman, Lisle, Osbourne, Bailey and Cheney

Key Notes:
Watson injured at some point only had 9 possesions
Essendon smashed in possession count 436-352
Essendon has half a new team
Everybody who scored any kind of goal and point for Hawthorn are playing tomorrow.

Essendon's OUTs are pretty big, while ours wouldn't be in our best 22 at the moment anyway... Really hope we can seal this one up

Heading down to shebu to watch this! very excited, been in greece for a few months so have had to listen on the radio. Will be great to see hodge back!
And my essendon supporting mate has just arrived in london, not winning is not an option!!

Hodge will not start on the ground. He will definitely be a sub. If he starts and we get an injury he has to play the full game (doubt he can at this stage)...If he plays he will definitely be as a sub.

I think he could start on, if we get an injury or even 2 he will be able to be pushed onto the HBF or even as the lead up FF that Lewis played if he needs to be hidden. As long as we hit the game knowing that might be the case we should be prepared to cover it if this happens.

Paul Roos apparently knows how to beat us.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/roos-strategy-for-an-essendon-victory/story-fn7si1vl-1226436143455

In Summary - Stop Mitchel, Riloli, Gibson, Suckling, Young, Bruest, Hale and Roughead. Then execute the Essendon game plan.

I'm worried, especially now Winerlich is back :D

I can't read the whole article - don't have a pass or whatever it is. What did Roos say about Kennedy? How would the Swans beat the Hawks and scum? Did he mention how good Sydney are at targeting opposition players? I assume he said SFA about the Hawks.

just paste this into a google search quiet - Roos: Strategy for an Essendon victory
That'll unlock that bit*h for ya ;)

Roos talked about shutting down Mitchell and Young and Gibson, tagging Punky and Pig to see how they cope, attacking through Hale and Roughs direct opponent when in the ruck and playing accountable footy, not rocket science stuff and the kind of thing that might be tried anyway.

he's just hoping to be able to write an article next week and talk OTC about how he designed the blue print to beat us

Nobody is going to write an article on how we beat Essendon because the current media consensus is that we are clear favourites for this game, last week they were talking about whether we would go small up forward like Carlton and put pressure on Heath and Harry down back to beat the Pies.

Next weeks articles will be on the Cat's mental edge over us for the past 4 years

As much as i love Hodgey, wouldnt a full game even at 2s level be better than a quarter and a bit at AFL level for his fitness base. And, if we get an early injury....... Well, i guess Clarko knows best

I'm not sure what the big deal regarding the Buddy out until Round 20 news is? Tonight we play Round 18, next week we play Geelong in Round 19, then it's round 20. Get him right, and have him fit, firing and hungary for finals.

Like most here, I really hope we smash the filth tonight. Bourbon and smashing filth sounds like a great night to me!
