Round 19 Captains

In (brackets) is the player’s last 3 games average to gauge their current form.

This week there are again a few options outside the normal Ablett’s, Swans and company

Hayes has his highest average against the Hawks at 107 over the last 5 games
J.Brown absolutely destroys Essendon every time he plays them; I have included the past 6 games to prove this point.
Stanton got a massive 174 against the lions only 2 games ago.

K. Cornes loves freo and Subiaco, he averages 97 at that ground, his personal best venue.

Here are just a few player averages at this weeks ground

Swan @ AAAMI = 96

The following averages are just for this year…

Ablett @ MCG = 120

Bartel @ MCG = 113

Chapman @ MCG = 129 (including a 152 and a 161)

Corey @ MCG = 105

Selwood @ MCG = 118 (including 2 weeks ago the 185)

Stanton @ MCG = 100

The following averages are pre 2006, the Saints have not played at Aurora since 2006.

Montagna = 72
Riewoldt = 82
Hayes = 99
NDS = 80

This week, I think I will choose Swan but Bartel, Chapman and Ablett look very tempting.

If you are looking for something a little different just for a league win, J.Brown and K. Cornes look like good options along with Stanton’s 174 in recent memory.

Any thoughts?

wow nice and early, great stuff.

Out of Hayes, Ablett, Swan, Bartel, Stanton and Chapman for me.

Haha tough choice but will probably stick with swan.

Cheers Notorious_29, :thumbsu::)

It's harder not to chose Swan than to chose him at the minute.

Boyd and Cross both look very good too if you have them (I Don't), WCE at the dome, both in good form and average well against them....

As usual great stuff beanie. :thumbsu:

A little short of options this week, Bartel and Corey just average. Bringing in a forward this week, might make it JB just to captain him.

I've voted J.Brown, but i dont think ill have the balls to take it off Swan.

going for league win, voted ablett, but thinking i might swap to Stevie J. 163 last time he played Carlton? nice :)

I was going to stick with the same old captain (little master), but he looked a little proppy to me on the weekend, didn't seem to be running as hard as usual so I'm going to give the thumbs up to big Brownie this week. In awesome form and you cant argue with the numbers he puts up against the bombers!

Great work Beanie!

It's a hard life.

Ablett
Swan
Montagna
Bartel
Selwood
Stevie J

Big score detection will need to be in full swing. I don't like going with the mainstream options of Swan/Gablett automatically.

My man Montagna might be too valuable to take the C off him.

care to explain why? Both average 120+

Out done yourself again SGMB :thumbsu: and out nice and early again.

Haven't really got a good feeling about anyone this week, so I'll probably go Kornes for safety - those figures suggest he should be very good for 95+ ...although I'm a little confused, Kornes's last score against Freo was 112 in rd 11 this year, but that's not on your list?

Other best options for me are Bartel, Chapman, Riewoldt or Goddard. Geez I wish I had Swan - then these captain thoughts wanted be needed;)!

Well spotted Hibsam, I have fixed it up now.

can't decide out of kornes or bartel, gut feel tells me kornes as bartel and most of the geelong squad must be feeling the effects of two thrillers in two weeks.

I had BArtel last week but swayed by rumours of him carrying an injury swapped to Ablett. my lowest socring midfielder...

Might go him again figure he cant screw me twice in a row.

Took a risk on Cross last week and sorta payed off. He scored 120 which is a great score but the two other mids ( Montagna and Bartel) who have shared the captaincy the whole year, scored 129.

But i think i might stick with Cross this week

Undecided, Ablett but hate friday night captains, could go with GOD, long time since he has been my captain, desicons,descions

Selwood id say. Ablett cannot be tagged, no one has been able to shut him down for quite some time. Between Bartel and Selwood i know who id be tagging.

It was only last week when he got shut down nicely by shirley
