Word from a North Adelaide fan at work is that Lonie was fantastic for the Roosters on the weekend. This guy was especially impressed with his disposal. When I questioned him about hardness at the football I didn't get any sort of response. Even though I pursued this by saying we needed players who are hard at it I still got nowhere so I'm assuming Nathan didn't do anything special in that department.

From doiler, a regular North Adelaide contributor to queries on our local league players (from the SANFL Form thread)

Lonie was given 3rd best from memory at presso's after the game and was very good coming off the wing. Most of his 22 kicks were penetrating deep into the forward lines. The main question mark I had on him from watching some of his Hawthorn games were based on whether he was prepared to put his body on the line and do the tough stuff and butter up for second and third contests, but he did that well on Saturday when he had to.

I'd like to see Lade tried as a permanent forward with Deluca and Brogan sharing the ruck duties. Altho if Porthos is right, we won't get any more productivity out of him that way. Still I think it's a big ask for him to play the full 120 odd minutes on the ground with alternating roles as a forward pushing up and a ruckman pushing back. It's not as if he just stands in the goal square.

Well we need another tall forward option besides White and Lade looks the best bet to me given Chad will have to play CHB.

Agreed - he probably is the best bet, short of a punt on Bruce which wont happen.

However an issue I have is that if he does go into the ruck - we need another tall down forward to replace him. Too often we look OK with him resting at FF, he goes to ruck, Brogan goes off and we are left with a lone tall up forward.

If Brogan is fit, then the idea of him and Deluca rucking with Lade stationed in the goal square has merit.

Sydney have one tall forward of any note, and Wakelin usually gets that dance. I don't see that we have any urgent need to play Chad in defence this week.

Lade has never been any good as a forward all game. You tend to get the same output from him if he plays a half up forward as if he played full time...the bonus being that he can ruck in the other half too.
Yep.
plus
Give Willits the forward gig. Don't expect anything sensational from him but give him some experience.

Just don't tell me you want "Symesy" there. :p

They'll have enough tall options up forward to require a genuine CHB. Hall, Goodes, a ruckman at times.

I believe all of these are answered in my Round 2 side ;)
