Has been poor in the past from memory,

Lost to the Crows last year at TD and the Doggies when we went top 4 2002.

Good thing is we bounced back both weeks.

Another encouraging thing was Bucks seemed to say as much in tonights commentary. I got the vibe from that comment and the "vault" comment the club won't be dissapointed to the point of writing the season off.

Seriously I never expected to have finals sured up by round 22 whe day Dids and Heater went.

1 finals win is a bonus, bailing out week 1 is about par with the kids we have in the side at the moment.

Going into our first final as underdogs doesn;t worry me too much.

In all seriousness, winning a final will probably be a very good result. Making the finals is an achievement if you think about it.

Losing Clement and Buckley...we were always going to go backwards a bit. You don't lose players of this calibre without leaving a hole.

Then missing Rocca for much of the season...and Didak/Shaw for the last 4 games. if I was told that this would happen at the start of the season, I wouldn't of thought we'd have a hope of making the finals.

What does worry me is that we seem to be a little mentally weak, and our lack of on field leadership is really worrisome. We don't seem to have those natural leaders who can lift the team....besides Burns, there's no one.

Yeah but if you said that our team come round 22 would have had Anthony, Dawes, McCarthy, Cox, Stanley as well as having played Toovey, Wellinham, Cook etc all during the year, I doubt another club has played more than that amount of youth and made the finals let alone avoided bottom 4. Freo won tonight but finish bottom 4 with probably more retirements than anyone.

Bring Thomas, Burns and Wakelin back in we are a show next week, wherever and whenever we play.

Ok, I'll bite for the 5th time on this topic

What happened in 2006? 68pt win againt the Kangaroos? Or do we just conveniently forget that because it doesnt help with your argument.

Well the fact we flopped to a 40 point loss to the doggies from 5th kinda does help my argument.

Look, I'm not saying I'm not dissapointed with the loss, but we do have a history of limping into finals and turning it around.

We also beat our bogey side in Essendon in 03 to sure up 2nd spot.

Tonight is not a disaster, that's all I'm saying. No injuries and a 4 goal loss in Perth was as good as a win 12 months ago.

I'm not expecting a premiership but a good showing from Swan, Pendles, Davis and Clokey may see us win a final, which is enough for me in the circumstances.

Keep the faith people!

Playing finals football is great for these young kids, if we can win one that would be great and would be my expectations. In fact that was my expectations all year, to finish similar to where we did last year (we finished 5th not 4th) in the H+A and maybe win a final or two and just continue pushing the kids through, getting the likes of Thomas, Pendlebury, Clarke, Cloke, Brown closer to that 23-26 age range whilst pushing out the older players. I think we've done that this year although let's not be delusional theres still some way to go. We still haven't got a great replacement for Burns and O'Bree.
