I'm surprised we're playing on Sunday against the Hawks. All the talk about this game was that we were either going to play on Friday or Saturday, so this is somewhat surprising.

It feels like deja vu that our season ends on a Sunday afternoon again just like last year when we played Essendon and lost by 3 points.

No idea why they even have a floating final round anymore with the week off after it anyway.

Yuck, Sunday twilight welcome to the graveyard. No one draws big crowds in that slot.

I thought the idea of a variable fixture was to allow finals sides a longer preparation and less travel, but it seems it's been scheduled to maximise 7 viewership. Thinking about it with the bye before finals a variable fixture is now redundant.

Looking at the previous week Hawthorn play on Friday and we play on Saturday. Geel, Melb, Ess and Carl all play on the Sunday, one of those games should have been the Sunday twilight. Although Ess vs Carl would be a straight swap for 7s pleasure the below would still give 7 the games they wanted:

Fri - Haw vs Coll
Sat - Ade vs WC
Sun - Geel vs Melb
