Ken is devoid of answers.
We are broken.
He at least admits the footy department has let us down.
Is willing to review and that will include looking at his game plan and will change it if that is what is néeded

LOL, change it if needed. That sounds like doublespeak for "three more years suckers" to me.

I'm going to barrack for GC, just for another good laugh.
Who would you say has the shorter odds - Gold Coast winning tomorrow, or Ken becoming a premiership coach? :drunk:

We could have had a potential fwd line of

Billy
Marshall
Watts
Dixon
Robbie
Hoff floating in and out...

Yet we ran with neade at times
AJ at times
Sam Gray at times...

Why why why.
. Sorry but I think your forward line would still be average without a change of coaching direction and development

So disappointing on so many levels tonight. How far we have fallen over the the second half of the year.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, in 2012 Essendon were 11-4 and one win behind the top team, then they fell off the cliff (maybe all those off-site jabs took their toll) and didn't win another game for the season, finishing 11th. Their last win was when they thrashed us by 50 points at Amy.

Pretty much the worst possible outcome. Kept it close enough to paper over some cracks but never had a real chance and every time we got a little sniff we went back into our shells.

And, we couldn't even lose by enough to improve our draft position.
We'll drop to 10th and get pick 9 when the roos beat the saints. And if the suns beat the cats then the saints 2nd will be 20 instead of 21.

Well we lost but tonight's performance was infinitely more watchable than our stoppage, defensive inspired dreck that we've served up for large parts in 2018.

The good:
Westhoff will go down in our club's history as a Doull/Tuck clubman - reliable, hardwording, honest, quiet achiever with a big tank and durability
Ebert I thought was back to his best, tackling and gut running
Credit to Boak, fought hard all night and lead like a captain should
Frampton produced the goods and its an embarassment that our coaches waited this long to play him.
Polec tore through the midfield like a hot knife through butter - we'll be missing him if he leaves
Cudos Ryder for his tap work/time up forward

The bad:
Neade was completely ineffectual - I thought he tried to win the ball dishonestly by leading with his head at every opportunity
Hombsch clearly looks past it and has lost touch
Pittard - just at the stage where we know exactly what to expect from him and why we continue to select him and put up with his high risk, low reward output baffles me
Our defence which is usually our strength lacked stability and was very leaky - Clurey out and a quiet Jonas made Essendon's vanilla forward trio have a goalkicking feast

The ugly:
SPP's game is one-dimensional, the fend offs and barging through everybody like a ram at the gate will only get you so far. Needs upskilling and educating to improve as a midfielder.

Should’ve stayed home and watched toast of London on Netflix it’s a good programme

This playing group has had the life strangled out of them. They don’t know how to play football anymore. Bassett brought the rot in, Hinkley bought in and ran with it.
We suck. We are ****** for many years to come.

We used to attack from halfback. What happened?

Disagree with your praise for Ebert, but the rest is spot on. Boak tried hard but he is such a scrappy footballer and his centre square work is not what it used to be.

Fitting end to a dismal season.... even when we were winning it wasn't a pretty style, knew that wasn't sustainable in the long term for winning.

The first qtr was a disgrace, even worse than the scoreless qtrs vs Freo and Carlton.

So glad our season is done, the last 7 weeks have been so frustrating

Full credit to Westhoff though, really hope he wins the B&F. He's had a great season!

If we get 43 people to sign a petition can we cause a spill?

Billy looked ready.

I wonder where the improvement can come from (except working harderer ….)

I got home without punching the Essendon supporters behind me, that's a win.
