No such thing as dropped - it's rotated. Lot of the squads changes are pre-planned, especially with bottom agers I wouldn't expect many to play the full 4 games.

I heard that Blakey was injured last week. He has also not been named in the local sydney premier league.

I note three swans academy players who must have just missed allies are playing for the swans reserves NEAFL today at 4pm on the SCG. They include Mitch Rogers, Bailey Stewart and Sam Wicks. This will be Wicks 6th reserves game in a row since the div 2 championships including a neafl rising star award. They are playing second on the ladder sydney uni, a side full of afl talent and ex swans academy stars. The game will be lived streamed from the neafl website at 4pm.

Disappointing to hear this news which reflects his lack of commitment and discipline .
He is no certainty to get drafted ( probably a long shot THB ) so any glitch in his work ethic will hurt his stocks even more.

Sambono from the allies had a bit of a purple patch that quarter which helped them get to margin back to 9 points

Few different players kicked 2 goals for WA, including Oscar Allen again. Callan England their best through the middle. For the Allies, Connor Ballenden had 20 and 8 marks in the back line and Adam Sambono kicked 1.3 up forward.

Thoughts on the game Keys. Better players etc.

For anyone interested I plan on getting to the earlier WA game against Country at Etihad on Friday. May stay around for the later game but am going to the MCG at night

Went along and had a look this arvo, game was of reasonable quality and pretty fast paced as both sides seemed to transition the ball well but with some good defending and overuse going inside 50 it would slingshot back.

I think Cahill would probably go down as who I felt was best on today. Looks to me as one who definitely possesses the attributes to go on to AFL level and is one of those back flankers who you want to see more of in the midfield due to the damage he can cause. Consistently would notice him break the lines and set up attacking forays through skilled kicking to advantage. Kicked a beaut of a goal too.

Oscar Allen had an interesting game, quiet at times but then would have patches where he seemed to be everywhere bobbing up to threaten the goals on numerous occasions. Whilst doesn't appear as overly bulky, I think he's one who would not look out of place at AFL level next year as his strength stands out against his age group peers.

Eastland is a likely prospect too. Moves well for a tall and as a forward looks pretty capable in the air, on the lead and at ground level. Kicked a really nice set shot too.

England seemed to find a lot of the footy and was the focal point for WA in the midfield. Doesn't amaze with his disposal or athleticism, but just looks a good solid footballer who'll find a way to succeed by retaining the composure that many lack. Decision making is definitely a strong point - can see that from his WAFL performances but good to confirm that at a higher level too.

Taylor and Naughton have both received a fair bit of praise for their games in the first couple of rounds and continued that form again today. Taylor especially with his ability to provide run, carry and link-up out of defense is a very impressive aspect to have to his game given his soundness defensively.

Kyron Hayden really stood out as impressive at times, but being near the bench noticed him as being rotated out of the game more than any other player. Certainly has the physique and confidence out on the ground to show that he would be a good chance of making the grade, but guess that endurance would be something he'll have to address.

For the Allies, Crossley really stood out and not just for the obvious reason of his size. Impressions were that he won the ruck comfortably, but gave plenty around the ground and looked at home when up forward. Impressively given his size it seems fitness does not hold him back from getting to more contests than any other big guy out there.

Bailey looks as though he'd slot straight into an AFL midfield and would relish the work at the contests from day one. Did quieten as the day wore on but as a competitor he stacks up pretty well to go in the draft.

Powell was quality, noticed him a lot being involved in the link up and transitions through the middle of the ground.

Ballenden was good. Won his aerial contests, but noticed him win a lot of the ball around half back which is not an attribute of his game that I was expecting him to possess.

Sambono up forward was a real livewire. Missed a couple he should have got but in the third it seemed everything was going to him up forward and was causing the defence all sorts of trouble. Would be a very tricky customer to play on as is slippery in the way he almost inadvertently finds himself in dangerous positions. Played deep forward as their main target for the majority of the day, be interesting to see how he'd go being tasked more as a crumber rather than being expected to win aerial contests.

Brander was ok, not quite matching the sort of number one pick expectations hype but can see there is quality there. Spent time both up forward and in the backline, looked a bit more comfortable in front of the ball making the leads rather than as a reactive defender.
