Game state at Day 3 tea.

NSW need 384 runs to win with 8 wickets in hand. There is a minimum of 39.0 overs remaining today and most likely a full 90 overs tomorrow.

Not sure if NSW just look to play out for a draw now and Steve Smith and Konstas have looked to just shut down shop for now.

NSW going out in chasing this target means potentially they may be exposing themselves to losing more wickets.

You think Boland didn't bat due to the respect between possibly both teams not looking to bat their number 11s? That would be something that I havent heard but respect is respect at the end of the day.
Or to not risk him getting a stray ball to the ribs/fingers/knuckles? I prefer your idea, spirit of cricket

Well I didnt see the injury to Hazlewood and Abbott- hearing hamstrings. Cricket Australia probably had a word to Cricket NSW management to not risk further injury to both.

I could see this game potentially ending today then. 3 wickets down, with 5 to go. And Smith has come out and played with a bit more flair after Tea on Day 3 here.

This round hasn't exactly been the run into the First Test the selectors would have hoped for,
Shield cricket is probably the best preparation for an Ashes series.

Feel England may have missed a trick here scheduling an ODI/T20 series against NZ in NZ, rather than playing an XI or state side from Australia.

And just as I speak Sutherland has one that scooted through Ollie Davies stance. The SCG wicket is keeping low and playing unpredictable.

Victoria are now potentially 4 wickets away from the game here with Smudge the only one providing defensive resistance.
