Out: Robertson (inj) In: Yeo
Out: Graham (inj) In: Murdock
Out: Owies (omit) In: Cripps
Out: Young/Brock (omit) In: Bazzo
Out: CDT (managed) In: J Williams

That's a lot of changes, but I don't think we lose too much synergy. Yeo, Murdock and Cripps have been in the side this year.

Boy do I wish H Edwards and Starcevich were fit.

Bazzo has to come in for either of the two spudly defenders in Young and Brock

Williams to come for CDT or Archer.

Murdock in for Owies

Yeo for Graham

Im gonna be positive and say Robertson will be right to play.

We need to be bit more dynamic in the forward. Need a bit of pressure, speed when the ball hits the ground.

Agree, I think we have been a touch too tall, unfortunately after a great start CDT is looking a bit out at see. Not his fault, but you feel a run in the WAFL wouldn't hurt.

Champion is the obvious swap.

Cannot wait for the Bo vs Murphy sideshow in the game day thread, with Bo coming off single digit possessions 🍆

OUT;
Graham (inj), Robertson (inj), Owies (omitted), Duff-Tytler (managed)
IN; Yeo, Murdock, Cripps, J.Williams

Assuming Graham & Robertson won't be fit to play.

Dare I say - Tom Cole for Liam Duggan?
Not a bad shout this - I like Duggan but gee his disposal was awful today.

For mine (not going to go Cole for Duggan just yet):

Out: Robertson (inj); In: Yeo
Out: Graham (inj); In: Cripps (if Graham okay then maybe Schoenberg drops out?)
Out: Owies; In: Murdock if fit (otherwise Champion)
Out: CDT or A.Reid (rest/managed): In: J.Williams

Young and Brock survive only because we don't have anyone better (I wish Edwards was right :().
Duggan would want to tidy up his ball use and ground ball work (very fumbly today) or otherwise Cole/Maric have to be considered.

Bazzo is worse dude.
We’re a quality KPD down whatever way we swing it
On what I’ve seen this year, both at AFL and WAFL level, I’m not so sure.

Brock can play a role. Young hasn’t done much since halftime of R1. I don’t think he has it in him.

Bazzo was good today, and as someone mentioned on the WAFL thread, he looks like he just lacks confidence. I think he should be rewarded in the next fortnight.

Judging by their work-rate and output, I think we’re approaching the juncture where we give Archer & CDT an extended break.

I’d be inclined to rest Archer next week and rest CDT the following week. We host Richmond in R8 and we’d want close to our best side out there for that one.

Tylar Young is fine. He's 2nd at the club for spoils, equal first at the club (and 7th in the comp) for defensive 1 on 1 contests that he's been in, but has only lost 30% of them (5 out of 16), 4th at the club for intercept marks (8th at the club for marks overall), and 2nd at the club for overall intercept possessions.

You've gotta factor in how much pressure our backline is under & how easy some of the opposition entries have been, especially against Sydney. A lot of the marks taken/goals kicked by Young's direct opponents there really isn't a lot he can actually do about it.

For context the only other player with a better 1 on 1 contest loss rate is Reuben Ginbey who's lost 18% (3 out of 16)

Dewar and Gross were terrific late in the twos… Elliott, Milan, Tyrell, Tom, Jamie in for Deven, Matthew, Jack, Archer, Cooper (rest week)

I had no idea he was seventh in the comp for defensive 1 on 1s. I’ve been saying to mates for the past few weeks there seems like there is a real shortage of quality key defenders in the comp atm. A lot of clubs don’t have more than one very good/great key defenders. For Young to be ranked that highly in that aspect of the game is a terrific result.

Perhaps I’m just frustrated with our performance of the first fortnight. You are dead-right - our defence has been working overtime for the past fortnight. It’s a tough position to play and we’re in a challenging predicament.

I assume Dev and Graham are both out which is as cruel as anything.

In: Yeo, Murdock, Cripps
Out: Graham, Dev, Owies (he was better than Hewett today but we’re not playing for today and he’s just not an impactful player in any facet).

Duggan on the chopping block but nobody there to replace him, cupboard is simply too bare beyond the first 25ish guys.
Adding to this out CDT in Champion.

CDT due a rest, only chopping out once a game in the ruck so nothing that Archer can’t handle, and Champion was very good in the WAFL.

Freo with their good talls aren’t going to get stretched for height so we need more foot speed plain and simple.

Murdock to Clark.
Yeo to Serong.
JOM will go to Harley.

Could be some good individual battles if we can get any semblance of midfield help for Reid.

Yeah the frustration is fair enough for sure, but yeah in the context of how we're going I think Young is doing a decent enough job. We've just been blessed to have had McGovern & Barrass as our backline pillars for the best part of a decade, and Young just isn't those guys haha

I just don't believe these stats, fails the eye test miserably.
Don't think hes AFL calibre personally and wouldn't mind if he was banished to the WAFL for a very extended stint.
