I just don't believe these stats, fails the eye test miserably.
Don't think hes AFL calibre personally and wouldn't mind if he was banished to the WAFL for a very extended stint.
To be completely honest I'm going to take the official numbers over your "eye test" - cause I'm willing to say your "eye test" = "seeing what I wanna see and ignoring what doesn't suit my opinions"

Yes, the “eye test” overrides everything don’t you know 🙄

It’s been a slow start for Tylar as unfortunately it seems to be the way for a lot of recruits that come to us… and he isn’t exactly playing an easy position, with the ball coming in the way it does. He’s quite composed disposal wise. I think he’s worth persisting with, if the pressure up field improves (and less supply) that would be a help for he and the rest of the defence also.

Luckily football is played in front of our eyes and not on a stat sheet.

Not a bad shout this - I like Duggan but gee his disposal was awful today.

Today ???????? ....... sadly, if only it was that simple.

we had two good wins and he looked bog average in those two games. Heck Brock last season had passages where he lookd a million times better than Young. Mind you young isn't even a kid anymore (he is the same age as Waterman and 3 years younger than a guy like Barrass).

Thats Good Robert Deniro GIF
On an unrelated note, full points for a great reference from an excellent comedy 👏🏽

Its not just about 1 on 1s though with Young. He is terrible positionally. Constantly in the wrong spot with Ginbey having to cover him.

After watching the Beagles get up it would be a shame not to see Jack Williams come in for CDT. It's time young fella you deserve a freshen up and the opportunity to learn under GOAT level Harry Barnett in the 2's.

Incredible levels of cope rushing Cripps back in from 90% of you campaigners. Goes out of the side on a 0 goal 24 ranking point game, probably the worst game of his entire career. Doesn't participate in the Beagles win, in which Champion is very good. Wall to wall Owies out calls despite him kicking a quality goal and applying elite pressure all game and making no skill errors. I'm not saying match committee won't do it but geez when all 3 of your small forwards kick goals and Murdock is coming in are we really going to bring in a second small forward and if we do wtf wouldn't it be Champion?

We’ve conceded 60 or more inside 50’s three times so far. The Port game we lost the Inside 50’s by 12 (despite winning the game). Glass, Scarlett, Rance etc etc would struggle with that amount of ball coming in.

I think we are a bit quick to judge new guys. I personally think he’s shown more than Brock already, but understand where you’re coming from. If we can have a sustained few weeks of winning in the midfield and reducing the amount of Inside 50’s we concede, then hopefully we will see some improvement.

Hopefully something he’s working on with the line coach.

Big test next week 😬 Bazzo may get a go over he or Brock. Shame we don’t have two Jobe’s!

I understand that and probably why I think Ginbey looked ok in that Gerogides match up. Unfortunately Young hardly plays on these match ups and when he does he gets pantsed. Frustrating thing is that he was known as a lockdown defender but the way he's playing he looks like he is new to footy.

He needs a spell in the two to get some form confidence back.

Young is a very unconvincing footballer.

Those stats about him winning 1v1 contests are absolutely baffling.

He's well behind Brock for mine, bloke always is getting gimped by his opponent.
Have you seen Brock these last two weeks? Horrible.

His positioning can't be that bad if he's 2nd at the club for intercept possessions..

As a defender you're gonna get caught out of position sometimes, ESPECIALLY when the ball is coming inside 50 easily due to no pressure up the ground and/or stupid turnovers - both of which are very common with West Coast.

Out Owies, Shoenburg, Duggan, Brock CDT(rest)
Ins Cripps, Yeo, Cole, Bazzo, Murdoch.

Duggan won’t be dropped due to captaincy (having 11 turnovers should automatically get you dropped)

Cripps didn’t participate in the WAFL because he was managed, not dropped. So presumably he’ll be straight back in, in which case Owies is an obvious out.

It’s not exactly rocket surgery.
