Round 9 tips and crowds?

I'd just also like to reiterate the point that North's forwardline is in better form than Adelaide's forwardline considering the opposition. North also have the inform ruckman and the best performed defender of this year from either club. Adelaide have a chance but this dismissal of North and its midfield is fairly hasty.

You know, I stayed out of all the other arguements as it was that close it's frivolous argueing or Adelaide homers were making fools of themselves. But that statement is just wrong. Daniel Talia is decimating all before him. No North defender is in equal or better form that Jenny-Talia.

I have not once dismissed North or their midfield. Was just questioning the original comment from the North poster who said anything less then an easy win and they should be kicked out of the comp. Unbelievable arrogance considering the two teams. Also the best performed defender is very questionable.

You dont just look at the last 8 games. Otherwise Lindsay Thomas > Buddy Franklin by that logic.

They're not comparable players. If one wants to compare Franklin in terms of being a CHF, then yes, Franklin is still better. As an inside midfielder this year, Swallow has outperformed Thompson. And for the record, it's not as if Swallow hasn't been performing in past seasons either, his 2012 season was very very good.

What about Scott Thompson, who has started the season in almost AA form?

What, apart from saying that Thompson and Dangerfield are better than any North midfielder? I find that hard to believe to be honest.

Good for him, tell me when that almost in AA form turns to AA form :)

It may be for you who has a history of underating Adelaide. But most nuetrals will agree. Thompson was AA last year and almost won the Brownlow. I would say Swallow and Sloane are pretty even.

For those playing at home, this poster is referring to the rules stipulating how many players are on the field. The problem with this argument is that in instances where clubs have had more than one player on the field, rule 5.5.3 (c) which is the law which states that all scores before said incident of more than 18 players being on the field must be lost has not been applied. I doubt, if two North players stumble on the field instead of two, that North's score will be wiped. Secondly, the likelyhood of such a rule coming into play is 1 in a billion.

Thompson didn't almost win the brownlow. He came equal 3rd and was 5 votes adrift. He was nine votes behind Watson with three rounds to go.

Thompsons' 2012 brownlow performance reminds me of Boyd's 2011 brownlow performance.

I would say Swallow and Sloane are pretty even.

Sure, and you're not dismissive to North players at all.

Sloane averages 23.2 possessions, 9.9 contested possessions, 3.5 clearances and 4 tackles per game this year. Swallow averages 25.9 possessions, 13 contested possessions, 7 clearances and 6.5 tackles. In what way is Sloane even midfield wise?

What's with the North and Adelaide fans getting antsy over each other's predictions?

Who would've thought that each supporter was inclined to think that their team was in with a good shot with winning the game?

Of course they are. North will go in deserved favourites, but I wouldn't be shocked in Adelaide win. The comparison came about because someone posted Adelaide's midfield "sh1ts" on North's. Which of course is incorrect and a little "fan boyish".

Talia is in contention for a spot at CHB in the AA team. He is in my opinon, the most promising young Key defender in competition. :thumbsu:

Glad people are tipping North, think they will win easy.
You also thought GWS and the Saints would beat us, as well as tipping North by 100+. I don't know what the Crows did to you but clearly you have a problem with them.

And
Actually, they concede 84 points per game while Collingwood concede 100 points a game.

Collingwood played arguably their best game of the year against Geelong and they still almost conceded 100 points to a team which was not at full strength so if Sydney are on early, and have a full squad to choose from, gonna be a ripping and fairly even contest.

And we got over 100 points with alot of players out too. About the same amount of players the the cats had out so what does that make Geelong's defense??? Gee geelong supporters making excuses like they had injuries. Well Collingwood had alot of players out too by the way.
