Yes. I know around 8 hasn't even started but now that the teams have been announced and I have 18 players I can hold firm on my "no trades" strategy so time to start thinking..

Dunstan -> SJ
Webster -> Bartel

If Dunny and SK can get a nice price rise this weekend that would be a nice bonus!!

Never too early to start a trades thread Jisk, i'm all over it. Depends on teams and rd.8 form etc of course but i think my trades will look like this...
Kelly-Goddard
Higgins-Dixon
Taylor-Acres
Yup. A Taylor to Acres/Hartung downgrade is on the cards too for the third trade..

Probably too early to quit on Higgo. Like the Dicko trade tho.

Yeah i'd really like to keep Higgins(especally if he goes 85+ again this weekend). All just depends how my side structures up for next week and whether i need to cull Higgins early or let him moo out and potentially even become my F7 or F8. I think Dixon is set for a big 2nd half of the year and want to jump on, not sure there's another way to do so. Like i said, will wait and see though. Hopefully get out of this round OK and go from there:thumbsu:

Kelly > Acres
Polec > Pendles
Higgins > Selwood

4 upgrades left to do after that (2 up back, 1 in the mids and 1 up forward) :thumbsu:

Webster > Aylett and Langford > Bartel/Swallow in round 10. :thumbsu:

Last 3 rookies on ground to be upgraded will be Langdon at D6, J.Lloyd, Acres or Hallahan at M8 and S.Lloyd at F6.

Bartel is the only premium I'm after who's actually expected to go up in value over the next few weeks so I'm fairly keen to get him in.

I'm considering keeping Langdon as a permanent D7/M9 to give cover to both positions. That has me considering a downgrade of Georgiou to Jayden Hunt ($117,300 d/m dpp) and trading out the two most suitable midfield rookies to Acres and Bartel (via Langdon to mids). That would not only allow Langdon to fill in for the defenders and midfielders, but would also allow me to use Hunt to make use of the best possible emergency loophole in those positions most weeks as he's never likely to play.

Probably won't do it. Sure to come up with lots of other crazy trade possibilities between now and late next week :)

Aish -> Watson (Finally! Been planning for a while waiting for prices to be right)

JKH -> Premium, if I have enough. Could get the extra downgrading one of Cutler or Gardiner, but might just hold off another week depending on all breakevens

Will leave me only Crouch/Robertson to upgrade to a last Mid premium and Kolodjashnij to upgrade to my last Premium defender (Then Polec, Higgins, Suckling, maybe McIntosh, although they're all scoring pretty well so might keep them)

I don't fully get why people start these so early but w/e

Polec if he gets < 70 is gone, otherwise he hangs around I guess (Playing Freo, I expect 80ish)

Others to go in order of likelyhood

- D.Thomas (haven't had a chance to get rid of him, could this week but didn't make sense to). He is gone unless he gets 120+
- Dunstan
- L. Taylor
- Langford

Who for will change based on how much money I have etc... but SJ is top of the list.

Selwood in for Tyson is locked.

Will probably try and engineer Swallow into the back line as well somehow
With a B/E of 154, you might want to consider Selwood in rd10. Will drop another 20k even if he tons up.

Aish or Tyson > Goddard
Langford > Bartel
Kelly > MF or DM Rookie for cash

Early cull of Lewis Taylor this week to Ambrose for additional cash.

Amen to that! Had these byes sorted nicely and then Mitchell and Jaensch go and get themselves injured to throw a spanner in the works

I've invested wayyy too much time this week thinking about trades. Please please please no more injuries to keepers!

Higgins could be a nice swap for NRoo in round 10 I'm thinking.

Kelly > Pendles
Polec > Selwood

Will leave me with Ablett, Pendles, Selwood, SJ, Watson, Beams, Cotchin, Libba.

1 premo to bring into backline, 3 to bring into fwd line after that :)

The answer is in the OP

If it was a normal week non-byes I would make a significant wager that most of these predicted trades don't happen because either

1) An injury like Sam Mitchell occurs
2) A cow tonnes up and we can't cull someone with a BE of 15
3) A flash in the pan player scores 140+ for the second week in a row and everyone wants him priced at 480k and a negative BE
