Usually 2 weeks before game for GA, and about a month before for reserved seats....

Keep checking ticketmaster I guess.

If you know a member they can buy member's guest tickets now with a few caveats (i.e. if a new member wants the seats your seats will be moved to the next best).

Yes they are! I bought some already. I was going to go 3 game membership but couldn't find enough friends to commit to it.

Cheers for that. Which end of the ground (behind the goals) do most Lions fans sit (cheer squad end?) or what gate number do they go through?
Wouldn't have a clue. Haven't been to the GABBA in quite a while. Overdue for a visit, round one looks tempting...

Shit. I think i just bought them for the wrong end! I read an old thread incorrectly. Any idea if it would be possible to change if i have stuffed up? What an idiot.

Shouldn't really matter. Not like it's an away game, you'll be surrounded by Lions fans regardless. I personally prefer to stay away from the cheersquad, they seem to do their own thing at times.

If you call up Ticketmaster, they can probably arrange a refund.

At any home game against the pies you're more likely to be surrounded by collingwood fans, especially at the eastern end of the ground. Even in the main members section you get them popping up out of nowhere

I must have gotten lucky a few years back then. I was on the opposite side of Brisbane cheersquad, but still had Lions fans in front and at the back of me. Pies fans seemed to have flocked to one side.

I think I booked at the eastern end. Will have to check if my immunisations are up to date. Will try to change but no doubt it will be too much hassle or too expensive. I don't like sitting near cheer squads but my sons like it. They'll be in for an education, if nothing else!

Unless you sit right in the cheersquad's section, I mean right in it, you won't notice them much. I personally wouldn't because I like to sit right at the fence, which you won't be able to do at either end really, with the cheersquads taking front couple of rows. If any, the western end (Gate 2) is the 'Lions end'.
If you've booked seats. then you're not in general Admission anyway, so not at ground level, and I don't think you'll get a seat right behind goal at the western end as they are corporate I think.

As you can see, the western end behind goal is greyed out, other than GA. That light area in the second tier is corporate. That leaves up in the nose bleed area, Whatever floats your boat, but that's too far from the action for me, would rather watch on telly. Mid - upper levels at the eastern end will be okay. The "enemy territory is more the General admission area at that end, outside of that, you'll get a pretty even mix.
All that said, as Fatcat08 said, with Collingwood games, there'll be almost as many of their fans as ours, everywhere.

I'm up in the Eastern End Mid- tier(Section 18) and can vouch for the compromise between high level over view and still getting to hear the thwack of body on body.
I can also back Skoob up on the overall pervasiveness of the Collingwood fans wherever you sit. They find a way in everywhere.

Cheers Skoob. Looks like i got the 'right' end after all. Personally, I'd rather sit higher up but it freaks one of my sons out. Really looking forward to the game and a win would top it all off! (Even if I'm also going with my sister and her bloke who follow collingwood)

The extra tickets I bought for friends and family arrived today.

Footy season is starting to feel real! :D:D:D

Bought two guest tickets for this game, haven't recieved them in the mail yet.

Do they normally arrive week out from the game?

I'd check that they're not sitting in Your membership login waiting to be printed instead of posted. That's the default method if you purchased them through the club

I bought 4 guest tickets last monday the 16th , and they came on Wednesday, but they did ask me if I wanted to receive via email or post and I went the post. This is the first time I have bought guest tickets through my membership, but I would say if you don't have it by a week from your purchase date I'd give them a call.

any idea what we're looking at numbers wise ?
There wasn't many seats left around my section (29 ) last Monday when I ordered the 4 guest tickets , so it looks like it could be a big crowd.
Also not many seats left on the seat map when you go to buy tickets.
somewhere upwards from 30,000 , hoping over 35,000.

We only got 21,000 for our first home game last year against the Cats, looks like we are going to smash that.
Not that it matters but the Broncs got 36,000 for their first home game, see how close we can get to that.

Looks like it's going to be a crazily busy game. Just bought four tickets in section 13 (I think? Down the bottom tier next to the 'away' GA area), and there's so few tickets left that I only had a choice of maybe 8 - 10 areas where there were four tickets together that weren't right at the back of the top tier. Is that normal, or is it nearly a sell out?

The Pies always draw a big crowd, and so does a round one clash. Combine that with the rivalry the Lions and Pies now have, plus confidence in Leppa, PLUS the recruitment of Christensen, Beams, and Robinson - you've got a perfect combination.

The game is in just under two weeks, and it looks as if (based on Ticketmaster seat mapping) it's going to be a sell out. If that's the case, will the club open up seating usually reserved for members that they've not sold yet? As a previous poster pointed out, the Broncos got 36k to their opening game this year, and if all things go well, this game could very well match it (or at least come close!).

I'm super keen for the game and have been following the Lions closely. Best of luck guys and gals - it's gonna be a ripper!
