Is he the real deal?

I haven't taken much interest in his career to date, but when i have seen him i always thought he was a rung below the top sprinters in the country.

This weekend he is up against Group 1 winner Mistegic, over 1000m.

IMHO Mistegic is the best 1000m horse in the country, hell he's won three G2's over the distance (1 of those at MV) whereas Rubitano is unproven at 1000m.


At the moment Rubitano is at 5/4, whereas Mistegic is 5/2.

Am i the only one that thinks those odds should be swapped around?

I certainly hope the lame Melbourne bookies have enough balls to offer me the 5/2 Mistegic.

The lame Melbourne bookies will open Mistegic at $2.40, wind it out to $2.50, some even to $2.70, before the faintest whiff of a bet on it sends it tumbling towards red figures.

Mistegic is currently $3.50,seems fair odds although apparently they bet $4 yesterday.

There's also a double with the Premiere in Sydney.

I'm a big fan of the Mayfield-Smith stable, have won some serious folding stuff on Rubi its last couple of wins and will be supporting him again tomorrow.


Great to see Innovation Girl and Bel Esprit returning also, its an exciting time of year with all these quality horses back on the track.

I was silly enough to take the even money for Rubitano. Silly as I am a big fan of Mistegic.
Anyway, earlier in the day got $2.20 about Bel Esprit. It was always going to win.

I liked Shaye Spice but i wasn't confident that she'd measure up to WFA. She ran very well, but i didn't bet on the race.
