What is Westy's future?

Is he doomed to be the eternal 3rd ruck choice, or can he play elsewhere?

Blake needs to aquire some agro.
Should go boxing and get winded three times a week, with a few whaks around the ears. He will be no good until he breaks that nose - in training/game ofcourse. One thing about King, he had presence on the field. Enter his zone at your own risk. The 07 GF beakshot was a classic. Blake isa none entity atm. People will start calling him sorbent soon, if he's not careful. Soft but strong, as long as the tears don't make a wet mess.

Is this Steven King ex Geelong player or Steven King jockey or Steven King author you're talking about? Presence WTF? He was the epitome of built like Tarzan plays like Jane, what did he ever do besides kick Jeff White in the face and dong a Port bogan in the GF? If ever there was a case for the soft sorbent nickname the non playing captain Queen desreved it!

I just hope everyone who is bagging Blakey is ready to stick their hand up and cop it when he's #1.

I don't exactly agree with Pillman, but King would get in and put his body over the ball. He was particularly good at this in his prime and his AA year when he was even a great clearance player. When he wasn't winning the hitouts, he was still keen to get down on his knees and win the ball.

This is a clear area in which Blake needs to improve. Just winning tapouts isn't enough.

I am. Just like when I said Heath Ledger would make a shit Joker. I hope I am that wrong again. But I honestly believe Blake is pure binjuice.

I just hope Ottens stays fit for 90% of the year. Going by his history of injuries, that may be ambitious, but he really is the key to the Cats dominating. Blake is obviously highly regarded by the coaching staff, who probably have more of an idea than a few "Blake Haters" on here. And as for Lonergan and Varcoe, I think they both are players who go well when the side is going well, which luckily in the last few years has been most of the time. Instead of ragging on them, I just hope they give us something and maybe surprise us with a few really good games. Be awesome to see Hawkins step up though

At this point in time Blakey is our only No1.
Ottens is a ruck/forward, this year probably mainly forward. Keeping him on the park, injury free, might mean more of a set pozzie for him.
On the positive, Blakeys' ruck stats are good, he's another year older, stronger, heavier and should be more aggresive. Really, this year should see him on a further improve curve.
To answer a criticism, about him getting down in the packs.
Why should he go to ground in the packs if Gazza, Lingy and jimmy are there, he's better off on the outside to stop the opposition breakouts.
His durability is a great asset, the rest are just kids or novices at the moment.
I'm glad we've got him, just give him this year before we make final judgements then its either in or out.

Meto.

Routinely blankets the oppositions best small forward/half forward whilst getting shitloads of it. Easily within the Top 10 at the club and easily Geelong's most underrated player.

Enright is helped by the defenders and midfielders around him. If he didnt have them, he would not be as great. He's helped by our game plan, it suits him to a 't'.

Im not saying he is a shit player, but the way the team plays and the players around him help carry him along. I doubt it would happen at other clubs.

Not sure if you meant Top 10 important players or best players, but:
Ottens Blake GAJ Bartel Corey Mooney SJ CHapman Scarlet Harry/Harley are all more important to the team and its structure. For arguements sake, I can take Blake out and put Corey in or another few players before Enright... I just put Blake in there due to his importance for team structure as a second ruck with Ottens aging body/when moves up forward etc

Following is Enrights wrapup in 2009 Prospectus

"Enright generally played on the most dangerous small/medium-forward or resting midfielder in 2008. He did not concede more than 2 goals in a game for a total of just 14 for the season. While he did the stopping jobs well it was the attack he provided for the cats that was the highlight.
He averaged 23 disposels per game hitting the target an above average 85% of the time. He led Geelong in defensive 50 groundball gets and rebound 50s, he won the ball off the opposition the 5th most of anyone at the club and ranked 5th in spoils.
Enrights outstanding season was awarded with his first all Australian selection and finished 7 in the B&F"

A tad above your average sheepdog.

I can see what you are trying to say, but the same things can be said about all but the very best players in the AFL.

Enough about Enright! He is not a ruckman.
