Ruffles?

I reckon he'll play as a high HFF type of player who can push into the midfield for a 5 minute spell during a quarter to give another player a rest. Cant wait to see ruffles back out there hitting up Pav with pin point passes into the 50, or kicking some special goals from the boundry

This. I reckon he's a little gem.

I am holding off on trying to decide where he would play until I see how he comes back from injury. Before injury I would have said that if he could could get his endurance up, with his speed and general decent work around the packs a rover position would probably be on the cards.

My God, that word has almost disappeared into a blur of "midfielder". Seriously, I can't remember when I last read it to describe a position/role.

"Sandi palms the ball to Palmer as he scoots past, onto the foot and straight through the high diddle diddles".

That is a rover.

As for Ruffles, yes he still has alot to learn and prove, but I like the cut of his gib.

Nevertheless - I think the role still exists, if the position doesn't. Basically in the square and at the ball ups, roving the ruckman as masai says. As opposed to skirting around the edges as a predator (To use a Wisby-ism) or link man. :p
