Rules for Season 2005
2004 National Draft
1. A Minimum of 3 draft Choices MUST be Taken
2. Once you have “passed” on a pick you many NOT pick any more players
3. Players worth $150,000 or less are able to be drafted in the National Draft
4. You must Pay the FULL wage of a recycled player
5. Price system:
1st Rounder -$60,000
2nd Rounder -$40,000
3rd + Rounders -$30,000
6. If you have traded for a pick you MUST use that pick and all picks before it.
7. F/S are 3rd round selections
8. F/S are allocated to the Club that they will go to in the real AFL.
9. 30th of August 2004 is when F/S selections must be submitted by. I will be lenient on some, as some clubs haven’t announced if they will be chosen. If clubs all ready have ie: Trav Cloke or Jesse W Smith then stiff ********.
10. You can submit the F/S selections to me Via PM.
11. You Only get 24hrs per selection. If not chosen then you get the Highest Drafted player from the real AFL.
2004/5 Preseason Draft
12. All left over Draftees and Recycled Players can be selected.
13. You may Only pick a player if you have enough room on your list
Rookie Draft
1. Players Under the age of can be selected as a rookie
2. You may only select a rookie if you have enough room ( max of 6 rookies per team with no Vets – 5 rookies with 1 Vet – 4 Rookies with 2 vets)
DRAFT ORDER WILL BE DONE ON LADDER POSITION
List Size
1. Team sizes are MIN 35 player Max 38 + Rookies
2. Vets don’t count to team size
Salary Cap
Every player has been given a approximate value per year. With all your players combined you must have a salary cap of $6,500,000 or less. You total salaries MUST be posted before the date announced. Veterans are exempt (only 2 per team & must be over 30). Players picked up in the Draft that were afl paid will remain AFL PAID. They do count to your list.
Press Releases
Each team is required to post 3 compulsory press releases.
The first one must be about the 2 drafts ( national and preseason).
The second must be you team list and total salary cap.
Finally the third must be about the team in general e.g. coach changes, starting teams for both VFL (if your team is in it) and AFL. And also leadership appointments
Failure to Meet Deadline
If you don’t meet the set deadline then you will get 1 penalty point. You only get 2 penalty points. Once you meet 2 penalty points you are kicked from the game. Only 1 Deadline is Exempt and that is the F/S deadline.
