Latest rumours doing the rounds

1. Kayne Pettifer to be swapped for Patrick Bowden from the Bulldogs.

2. Joel Bowden, Andrew Kellaway and Duncan Kellaway to be swapped for Aaron Henneman, Justin Blumfield and Mark McVeigh

These are just rumours that I have heard round the place and though people might be intertested, obviously only one of the two could occur, as the whole point of getting Patrick Bowden would be for him and Joel to play together.

Any thoughts??

You can add this.

Tigers chase Hasleby
AAP MELBOURNE|Published: Monday September 9, 4:15 PM

Richmond has out-of-contract Fremantle midfielder Paul Hasleby in its sights.

The Tigers are working towards creating enough room in their salary cap to target the 21-year-old Hasleby, who heads a shortlist of out-of-contract players who could bolster their onball division.

Tigers chief executive Mark Brayshaw would not directly commit to the pursuit of Hasleby, but said: "There's an ongoing and thorough review of our position (14th) this year and we are going to be vigorous between now and the end of the year to improve our status.

"We are looking at being involved during the trading period as well as getting an out-of-contract player in the pre-season draft."

The club will also gain some salary-cap relief from the retirements of Matthew Knights, Paul Hudson and Steven Sziller and several other players who are facing the axe at Punt Road.

Richmond is also banking on the increasing number of AFL clubs reducing their total player payments and heading towards the minimum allocation of 92.5 per cent of the salary cap.

The financial landscape is changing and as a consequence, more players could be on the open market this year as clubs attempt to reduce costs.

Keep Kayne sure he pouts a lot but he's worth sticking with Patrick Bowden hasn't done alot for the bulldogs so we might as well keep on going with Kayne, if the boy puts on some weight and stops sooking for frees all the time he'll be a good player.

God I hope we don't get McVeigh I hate him dunno why he just irritates me.

Whats the big deal about joel and patrick playing together? Them being on the same team isn't gonna magically make them better players.

On those rumours... thanks but no thanks.

Haselby

Haselby, is an outstanding young player. The dockers will struggle to fit him and J. Longmuir under the salary cap. Pavlich has just signed a new contract. Farmer, Croad and Symonds would of cost them a bit to get over here. He is definitely worth our Ist draft pick.

He and Cog's would look good together in the midfield. He is strong over head and knows how to kick a goal. I hope that the club does all that it can to get him.

He has had a bit of back trouble which should be closely examined. But did not seem to be troubled by it too much as the season went on.

CARN THE TIGES!!!!

*LOL* No, I'm serious. If we can negotiate a deal, fair to both clubs then you can have Hudson.

Let's say you get us

* A signed sopy of Ernie Sigley's "Hey Paula" (Denise is a tiger supporter, we can get her autograph)

* A couple of free games at the Paisley St. Bingo centre

and...

* A free souvlaki for each Richmond player from that rather dodgy stand at the entrance to the city side of the Fottscray railway station.

Sound fair??? Okay, you drive a hard bargain...we'll throw in Royce Hart to coach you again.

Now, there's an offer you CAN'T refuse!

Do you really believe that Essendon would be stupid to trade some descent players for the bloody Dudaway brothers, inparticular Duncan. People live in fairy land.
I will give you one true fact, Richmond will offload number 4 pick in the draft.

You had me until the Royce Hart threat.

Perhaps Hudson can play for Tassie with Trent Bartlett?

Maybe Rocket Eade can coach them, he's got nothing better to do (come to think of it, Hart might till get a game for them).

Any trade rumours with the Bulldogs are sheer bollocks until they have sorted out getting a coach and determine what he requires.

But, for what it is worth, I don't rate Patrick Bowden whatsoever, though may consider a Pettifer / Penny trade with the Bulldogs.

I've said before that Bowden could be traded for the right price. Henneman, Blumfield and McVeigh certainly don't qualify as that!!! Andy Kellaway had an excellent season while Bowden was reasonably steady but a little erratic. I really don't see either of them going unless pick 1 or 2 became available.

Duncan has had a rough trot with injuries over the past few years and is pushing closer to 30 - probably doesn't have a long period left in the game.

Penny would just about be an untouchable for us with our glaring lack of key position players.

Wouldn't trade him for Pettifer anyway.

You're right about Bowden, I don't think he'll make it either.

Patrick Bowden is softer than Joel. No thanks. We don't have room in our side for 2 Bowdens and a Houlihan. :(
