Missing him on the weekend how important he really is. All that junk about him only being good because of the help he gets is BS. I think he makes everyone else in our backline look good.

I'm pretty confident he'll be up this week.
As I said in another thread, our abysmal defence effort on the weekend demonstrated how much Rutten lifts our team. Which is at least part of the reason why he should be our next captain. Absolute champion.

Why Ben Rutten should be AA full back:
Only once has a team kicked a higher score against us than Fremantle in the last 2 years...and that was west coast when they thrashed us by 82 last year, showing that its no coincidence that when Ben is not there, Adelaide's 'best defence in the league' is not there.
I don't subscribe to the theory that 'everyone helps Rutten' and therefore he is not a good full back.

Even if he does play, he will be carrying an injury which will limit his pace and mobility. So I ask whats the point of playing him if he is not 100%?!
His inury will limit his influence no doubt. He is not the most agile or mobile bloke to start with, the knee will just slow him down.

FWIW, I think Scarlett will get AA fullabck this year. He has had an outstanding season. But Rutten is very close to him. He just needs to get back from injury now to keep the pressure on Scarlett.
But hopefully not this week.
