I've said for a while we should be playing 5 bowlers but none of the 'all rounders' ever made enough runs to bat 7. Now that Bailey, Harris and Gillespie have shown they can bat at this level against a reasonable attack, for the Brisbane game I'd bring in Rofe for Plant (well I'd dump Elliott but that won't happen). For one day cricket any talk of Harris not playing is just bushrangeresque. Discuss Cleary again if Harris fails in Brisbane, and he should get a one day game on Saturday in place of Tait.

Bit like plenty of players had better stats at domestic level than McGrath or Warne, but just weren't as good. Harris is a grade cricket bully, first class hack.

You kidding? He is way too old...and he is an utter hack. He wasn't 'left to waste', he was given plenty of chances and failed consistently.

And he has been left to waste, in and out of a side does not gove one a chance to improve. There have been a lot of hacks picked ahead of him over the years. He is a very smart cricketer, that is probably past his best. Bloody handy for redbacks, but of course selection for Australia is not going to happen.

Rofe was in the side for a large chunk of this season, and believe you me I am a Rofe fan and I know talent when I see it, be it footy or cricket, and he is awesome but the poor bastard can't seem to take a bag atm. At one stage he looked like the bloke to replace McGrath. That said Harris can't either but he is still just earning his chance for this season...I know he had his chances over the years and was rightly dropped because he did nothing. But his current form can't be ignored and all a selector can do is pick an inform player.

He was in and out of the side early in his career but he never did anything to make the selectors change their minds. His hands are great, he moves worse than Tremlett, his batting's very FTBish, his bowling's nothing special.

And when he did get 7 games in a row in 04/05, he made 247 at 19 with 1 fifty and 3 ducks

The national selectors once thought Graham Manou was good too

At least Cleary is finally back and he has started well.. Ryan Harris rarely takes a wicket and gets spanked every game. His batting is also mediocre at best.
