No idea about contracts but he's playing well enough to persevere with, although its still at the potential stage rather than us seeing results.

He's showing a bit more toughness this year. Another year like 2003 and he's at the crossroads - but I'm confident his career is still heading north.

I was a huge fan a while back but since the 2002 finals he has been as dissapointing as Didak IMO. These are the two that have to stand up big time now in our time of need. IMO unless they do they could be trade bait because real class players show it early more then they have so far. Didak was good on ANZAC Day but he must now do it under fire at AAMI.

And wouldn't we all love to see that...

Back on Lonnie - same deal as Didak. Just needs to have more presence. A monthly goal from a run is not nearly enough. His defensive work has been good at times buit he has no presence or influence for far too long in far too many games.

Give him two more years coz i see potential but if nothing drastic happens get rid of him.

We don't want or need anymore passengers!

Trade him, Im not asking to much.

God damn i'll settle for Zantuck as a trade, maybe even Pettifer.

I wouldnt hesitate to wave good bye to, as mention shuveradda, one of our passengers. He has the talent but not the heart. He is wasting himself and needs to spend some time in the VFL to have his position in jeapardy, there is too many players who dont seem to value their spot in the side.

brentoncowell may i say that you are the Man!

You are exactly right i have been trying to say this for a long time, and it is that Collingwood has to Many ' Passengers' and exactly what you said, to many people who do not value their spots in the team. Cut Em off, weak Links.

you's are all being a little harsh. There are a number of players I'd look at getting rid of before Lonie.

If lonie is to be traded, it's better that we do it sooner rather than later so his value is still high.

I would play him defence his whole life he was born for it. Wont ever become a midfielder

On the contrary, I'd love to see him out of the square as a leading forward - have thought this for about 6 months now. What are people's thoughts? He's quick, reasonalbe in the air and a stunningly accurate kick...

I reckon thats a fair idea, give him a go down there, we could try anything in our forward line at moment to try to get something to work
he hasnt been all that effective in the midfield so far this season, no use playing him off bench, so put him forward, at least to a roaming flank type possie

I would take Pettifer or Zantuck, but here is my point.

Guy Richards was a player which everyone wanted to see in a Collingwood jumper, that became true.
Now...
Guy Richards is a player that everyone wants to see in a Williamstown jumper!!!

He can't support Rogan in the ruck and hasn't made any impact down forward.
Bring back McKee, if he doesn't perform, then trade Lonie - and if needed draft pick/s - for a ruckman who can ruck and be a regular.

Dean Cox and Peter Street should have been looked at more closely than Nick Stevens!

We need another ruckman.

Richards is ok. Let him get his feet before chucking him. We gave chances to Johnno and others and they came through. Let's not blame him for our current situation.
On Lonie I think we need to be very careful. Don't forget we told Schuable to bulk up and then traded him when his form dropped only to see him blossom when he got used to a bigger body and different role. Lonie has bulked up a lot and is now playing on serious footballers eg. Pavlich. When he began and we loved him he was a lose outside runner who had no physical presence. Collingwood have changed him physically and as a footballer and we need to give him time. All of us have spent time agonising about the lose of Adkins and Scotty in rushed decisions lets not make another one without serious thought.

If you think Lonie is a passenger on this bus, then Zantuck and Pettifer would be pieces of luggage.

i thought lonie was fantastic for us today especially in the last quarter. gave us tremendous drive off his wing and pumped the ball long into the 50 on several occasions. won some contested balls which, if they had've gone the other way, wouldn't let us get so close in the last quarter.
all i ask for now is consistency.

Showing a bit more strength in marking contests too. He's a must-keep.
