From the Bendigo Andvertiser:
GARY Moorcroft, Jordan Doering, Luke Hawkins and Ryan Webster won't be seen in the All Seasons Bendigo Football League this season.

The four new Bendigo Bank Bombers' recruits won't be forced to align themselves with BFL clubs this season due to the fact they are regarded as Melbourne-based players who have been granted permission by the AFL to train with Essendon at Windy Hill.

"We've gone through this with the BFL and our view and their view is they (the four recruits) are going to play every game for the Bombers," Bendigo Bombers' coach Peter Banfield said yesterday.

"And we're talking real quality players here - Jordan Doering is a best-and-fairest winner with Tasmania and Gary Moorcroft is a premiership player.

"I just don't think it's right for a BFL club to say to to Gary Moorcroft; `we're going to pay you $500 a game to come and play with us'," Banfield said.

"I don't want to put a club in that situation and I don't want to put Gary in that situation." Banfield said he wouldn't be tempted to play his best players in the BFL when the Bombers had the bye this season.

The Bombers have the bye in the opening round, which will be before the BFL season begins.

BFL chairman Mark Johnston said the BFL was supporting the AFL initiative that allowed Essendon to have five Bendigo Bombers players train at Windy Hill.

"For Bendigo to be competitive, it needs to be able to recruit some higher calibre players straight out of the AFL," Johnston said.

Brother of Luke from Freo, played WAFL last year. Go to Bendigo Bombers website for more info.
Can be classy but chronically injured. Probably WAFL/VFL career unless a dramatic form turnaround.

Should be a handy KP pick up if you can keep him on the park.
