So S.Lloyd is responsible for the forward line. Hmm.

That needs to be changed for next season. Great person and coach for our club but simply spread too thin.

Thought exactly the same thing when I heard this. I wasn't aware he was looking after the forwards. Seems obvious now that he needs to either move back to the development role, or have someone else take over and concentrate fully on being an assistant. From his point of view he would probably prefer the latter, but I would like to see him go back to what he does best. Hopefully he doesn't see it as a backward step.

Have heard the club wants Lloyd back doing what he was recuited for that is to develop the kids- yes he has been spread too thinly.

Fully agree if he wants out of development and a full time assistant then mccathy should take over with prescott assisting

Wow, that explains a lot in a nutshell. Our forward line goes from one of our greatest assets to our clearest weakness over the period of just 1 summer. I'll be glad to hear that he'd be going back to focus more solely on his developmental role while hopefully that means we bringing a full-time forward line tactician.

Kind of cutting and pasting his quote but this scares me: "I've been looking after the area of ball movement" "and I've got some great support from Shaun McManus"...

lots of respect to Lloyd for his development work, but what I dont like about this was how he went on about the so called "versatility" of Collingwood as something that we should be emulating. Yes Swan and Pendlebury went forward and kicked goals, but he did it when the game was won. If the game was on a tight rope Swan and Pendlebury would have been in the middle where they are at their most dangerous. I don't mind them mixing it up 5% of the time when things are not going well or things are going so well you can afford to develop some of your young players. The lesson that should be taken out of the Swan / Pendlebury is that midfielders have to be able to kick goals if they are within range.

To emphasize, you don't see Cloke going down back much, or Harry OBrien going to a forward pocket, nor do you see Joel Selwood play as a tagger, or Matthew Scarlett as a full forward much.
