The final that the vast majority of impartial viewers wanted I think. I know it's the one I wanted.

Good story either way here. 'Saders win and its an amazing achievement to have won the comp without playing at home all season and given the horrible quake that took place in their hometown. Reds win and its a remarkable resurrection of the Reds from 2nd last to premiers in the space of 2 years.

Obviously I want the Reds to win it but I won't be too annoyed if the 'Saders get up. What an achievement that would be.

Let's hope for a replay of the last time they played at Suncorp which was definitely one of the best few games of the season. A bit more Quade magic would go down nicely too.

As long as Stu Dickinson isn't refereeing the match, I tip the Crusaders to win. It'd be exactly what Christchurch and the whole Canterbury region needs right now after the quakes devastation, and losing their World Cup Matches.

Bryce Lawrence from New Zealand is the ref for the final.

Let's hope SBW can make it through the whole game this time. Fruean-SBW is the best centre combo in the comp and would love to see how Tapuai and Fainga'a deal with them.

Handled them fine last time.

Also, remember that Queensland was devastated by floods earlier this year. Crusaders do not have a monopoly on devastation.

True, but I don't remember the Reds having to play an entire season on the road. What the Crusaders have done this season is nothing short of miraculous.

The more I've been thinking about it, the more I've been coming to the conclusion that I would actually really like to see the Crusaders win it. A few days ago I was firmly behind the Reds but I'm kinda 50-50 now.

You genuinely cannot over-emphasise how amazing the accomplishment of winning the comp (that is already stretched across 3 countries) without any proper home games would be.

Well done Reds on the win - thoroughly deserved it but if the Crusaders got up, no one would begrudge them. Great to see such an easy beat side turn it around and hopefully the Wallabies can emulate them.

I hope the Waratahs were watching - exciting rugby can actually mean success.

what a win and what a game. commiserations to a gallent and a champion side in the crusaders. up the reds. james horwill at one stage should have politely went up to the ref and said to him. instead of taking the scrum after every turn over that went their way. could we start taking taps please. they were getting slaughtered in the scrums. 16 year drought is over

Well done Reds! Intense game. I actually thought both Cooper and Genia had really off games tonight. The Reds defence was great and Genia stood up when needed, with that great try. Hard luck to the Crusaders who dominated at the scrum and breakdown but were letdown by the lineout and dropped ball. Still an amazing achievement after all they have gone through this year.

In the end it was a great result for Queensland and Australian Rugby!

Fantastic stuff from the reds. It's been such a long time for us reds supporters. Early 90s was a fantastic time to be a reds fan, sat nights and Sunday arvo's at Ballymore. I am overseas these days so don't watch as much as I use too but the way they play is brilliant and hopefully the wallabies carry this on in the world cup. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Great game, great atmosphere, great result. Up the Reds!

Shows how good a team the Reds are that even with Quade having an average night in general, they still are good enough to knock off the Crusaders who are a very impressive, experienced side.

Genia was the best man on the ground again and was the match winner for the Reds. Some of his kicking was pretty poor but his influence and ball delivery was outstanding. Not to mention his try which was insane.

Beau Robinson wasn't able to influence the game as well as he normally does (though he still got to loads of breakdowns). Crusaders really were just the better team at the breakdown and really should have capitalised.

Thought Benny Tapuai played probably the best game I've seen him play. Cut down SBW, ran hard and hit some gaps. May well have played himself into the Wallabies 40 man squad.
