SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
Issued at 3:20 pm on Thursday, 9 December 2004
For people in the Flinders, Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula,
Riverland, Murraylands, the Northwest and Northeast Pastoral districts south of
Leigh Creek, the Upper South East and the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges
district.
Very heavy rain is likely with thunderstorms in these districts this afternoon.
Severe wind gusts and large hail stones are also possible.
If thunderstorms do develop in your area, localised damage and flash flooding
may occur. The State Emergency Service advises that people should keep a lookout
for thunderstorms and if storms approach, secure loose outside objects and move
vehicles under cover then stay indoors until the storms have passed. Driving
conditions may be hazardous.
