How did all you south aussies go with the final results, heard on the news that 10 people got the 5 perfect 20's, have we got any stand outs on big footy?

I did average, b's and c's, a couple of disgraceful exam results no doubt contributed to a couple of poor marks, but a couple of great exam results pushed other marks up.

I really wish I didn't look. Oh, how I ********ed up hard ...

The TER on half the stuff this year is crazy.. we need more teachers yet you gotta get 92 to get in... yeah that makes sense :p
I got 88 couple years back...

I agree with that.

I also think that the results Australia wide should be the same.
eg if you do 6 subjects such as english, maths b,chemistry,HPE,Chemistry,Biology and Physics, you get 3 A's and 3 B's.

That it means the same TER in every darn state.

Not a lottery system like it is now.I know that it can vary with those marks from a 88 to a 60 in Qld and thats poor.

Continuity for the Uni's as well. They know that if a student has those marks, noo matter where they live their TER is the same. They know what they are getting.

This would require the same national curriculum. In other words, the complete uprooting of the education system from state to federal governments.

Wouldn't be a bad thing, but it will never happen.

I hate this time of year. The poor kids work so damned hard and its a lottery here in Qld to what OP you get.

2 instances. My mate did far worse tthan I did last year, and got a better OP.
Another friend got 3 A+,and 2 B+ and only got a 7.Which is an 87.

Gut wrenching for these kids.

Especially when 1/2 the Uni places in Qld got to Mature Age people as stated in todays paper. How bad is that for the kids.

Don't worry, one typo doesn't mean I'll ever be less literate than you.

I agree the O.P system is really **********

Your friend would feel very hard done by. There must have been drastic downgradings because of easy work or his classes really really sucked in the QCS test. I got a 9 with 1 A and the rest B's but hey I done the hardest subjects.

I also think its stupid that people can still get extremely high O.Ps when they do subjects such as Home Economics and Woodwork etc. There needs to be more grading such as Physics being ranked a hell of a lot higher than Cooking - at the moment they just measure the work done across the state for each subject and 'smartness' of the class and thats how they grade their results. Should go to the NSW system ASAP. Well apart from the huge tests at the end of the year!

I didn't know wasting the year away doing nothing stopped me from being able to talk English.
