Hey guys, I dont mind Bailey, reminds me of a Rodney Eade,
Lets say you guys start going down the new coach path, If Malthouse and Roo's dont agree to coach your team, then back to square 1. Pretty hard getting awesome coaching panels these days.

I vote yes.

I think everyone on here knows where i stand, based on my thread.
NO point keeping him to the end of the year, if the club is going backwards. Time to get a proven coach.
I don't get how anyone would not vote yes.

Stability? Winning is the only thing that provides stability and Bailey is a proven loser. What is the use of having the most stable bunch of losers?

Are we going to waste another year with a coach that has no future at the club? Give another bloke a go and see if we can turn things around because Bailey won't do it.

BigSexc voted no and he is always wrong so the vote should be obvious.

Nah, not yet.

I'll admit that I find myself questioning his position as senior coach, but come on, we were in the top 8 coming into this round.

Despite the worrying signs, it's far too early to make a decision at the moment.
This pretty much.

Bailey is employing this seemingly insane game-plan due to necessity. We don't have any big-forwards to just 'kick-it-to', so we've got to create opportunities on the re-bound. I'd expect the game-plan to change significantly in the coming years.

Does this game-plan work? Doesn't look like it, especially when the opposition have more than double our inside 50 count. I also pointed out in a previous thread that Collingwood's demolishment of Geelong in the preliminary final made this style of football redundant.

The onus is on Bailey to tweak the gameplan around.

Shit thread, come back at the end of the season.

Sacking a coach mid-season does nothing for the club from a development stand point.

Again, shit thread.

again shit comment... your the sorta bloke who would have been pumped with what we achieved since 1964, i bet your sitting at home telling everyone.. hey it all takes time.. were developing, were young.. its time for this club to be pro active not reactive.. this is year 4 of a '5 yr plan' well we look no more organised dangerous than last year... name 5 players that have improved since last year
name 10 players who have gone down hill.. easier to name the ten

went i wrote the OP i wasnt necessarily meaning to sack him tomorrow but in re reading it has come across that way.. i just ment give him till half way through the season... if he continues with this game plan.. then move him on

i would give the loser 3more weeks, if nothing changes show him the door, and nothing will change because hes lost the players.

It's a shit game-plan, but realistically, explain what sort of game-plan is a viable alternative. It's a young list and our forward line is non-existent. Dunn, Bate, Petterd, Jurrah are our senior forward but non of them are Key-Position Players.

At best the game-plan can be tweaked this year. Game-plans evolve and I'm confident ours will evolve into something better than what we have now.

Or I'm the sorta bloke that doesn't expect a team to be transformed over the course of an off season because it's unreasonable. I'm willing to give him the rest of the season to see what happens because things change quickly in football and then evaluate Bailey at the end of the season.

You and every other teams supporters.

If we can get a real coach we will be unbeatable.
Yeah because a new coach will fast-track Watts' development by five years. A new coach is going to make Cook add 20kg of mass overnight. A new coach is going to prevent Gawn from being so injury-prone. A new coach is going to make Bate run quicker than a tortoise.

How the hell are we going to be unbeatable?

tap my scott has taken your mantle now for shittest comment

whos expecting this team to transform over night?
mate i have no problem with the list and the progress of young players.. hell even watts was good last match... but i do have issue with the fact that now it is reasonable to expect to play some part in the race to the finals, yet we currently look no better than a bottom 4 side.. we have no flexibility in our plan if we arent running and carrying then what are we doing, im not a fan of waiting out the season because you breed a whole season of losing into the culture.. id much rather us identify if were not making the necessary progress , cut our losses and instill some enthusiasm back into our style of play...

work this out...
bailey says we are not trying to score from half back, that we are trying to forward press like everyone else

then how come everyone else in the WORLD sees that we are playing from half back!!!!!

and then if its the players who are just all not following instructions.. then why is that?? that is the coaches responsibility... for mine the players have lost faith in the coach and its plain and obvious to see.. there playing without conviction in the plan and themselves and it makes for horrible watching

If things haven't drastically improved by the end of the season, then YES.

We can't afford to waste valuable years with such a quality young group. The sooner they get a gun coach to mould them into a gun team, the better.

You don't know that. Chances are you are probably right, but look at Sydney. Roos never would of coached a senior team if they waited to the end of the season because Wallace would of taken over.

If something isn't working change it, that goes for players and coaches. I don't see how doing nothing makes sense.

Bailey has been a disaster since day one.

I have supported Melbourne all my life and have had some good times and more recently some bad times, but I have never been so dissapointed as Thursday night and feel compelled to write my thoughts.Melbourne football club is lead by a gold plated ****ing clown named Dean Bailey. He is without peer as the worst coach of the past decade and a half and has Joyce, Watson, Frawley, Brittain and Wallace covered in a canter. I am absoulutely filthy that this imposter could take down one of the best list we have accrued in the past 15 years. No game plan, no improvement in any of our players, no structures, no improvisation, no charisma, no knowledge, he virtually has not a clue about anything related to football. I will not be taking out a MFC membership whilst this ****head is living in Melbourne let alone coaching them. I have ridden the past couple of years knowing we are re-building and have no problems with that. I am petrified this bloke is going to waste all the good work of the recruiting staff at the club. Get someone in who knows what he is doing, whatever he costs!!!
