It is a fact that the saints had no effective forwrd structure yesterday. We need to get the G-train up front with Rooey and Milney supporting him.

It's got to be Gehrig or Ferguson in my opinion. Charlie Gardiner isn't good enough. Even Jarryd Allen. How have Ferguson and Allen been going for Casey?
At the very least they're bigger bodies who would be able to hold their ground. We are kidding ourselves if we think Ferg or Allen would have had any impact on that game. Probably not more than Gwilt did.
Allen remains a good prospect for the FUTURE, not for these finals.
We need one of BJ, Goddard or No. 18 up forward. Not sure which one.

NO THANKS - need to move forward not backward Saint77 for mine.
Just go with what we have now and then re-structure in the off season
Oh ok, so we sacrifice a final's game for a player that may or may not prove good enough? Im sure one game will not hurt the development of a young player. Imo, we have been playing Eddy far too long, he has little impact at all (except the Essendon game). Remember, average players look good in winning games, but look very bad in loosing games.
I definately would like to see G there.
The other problem is our structure. All this flooding stuffs up the forward line structure. This means, it is very difficult to run back to the goal square after flooding to the middle of the square, then try sprint back and provide a lead because...
A. Your totally stuffed/spent.
B. By the time you run back, so has the other team, so try marking in a flood.
C. We dont move the ball from the backline to the forward line fast enough. Its not a smooth/fast transition like it was in 04-06, because we're not in the right positions, but we do this because this is they way Ross wants to play.
No chance. G-Train was past AFL level this year. Was worth a shot for pick number 57, but it just did not work out. Bad luck.
Forward entries must go to a jumper not a name!
Reckon
that we should turn maguire into a forward when he comes back? Looks as though the new rules could be diffict for him to adapt to. Only problem is who replaces max when he goes. Could be the answer up forward though as he can take a mark and has been known to push up the ground...
