Saintsational Disgrace......

Seems as though Saintsational has gone off the rails and is now run by a select "boys club" of moderators. Yep Ive been banned but since have also found another 5 who have been banned as well without any reason......mods there allow some posters to slag off at anyone and everyone......with others singled out.

Shame...it was onced a great site...now run by a group of psychophants who dont like an alternative opinion to their own........I thought it was supposed yo be a site for ALL Saints fans - and this was part of the reason it USES the St Kilda Football Clubs name?????

Might be worth a club letter....

btw the moderators here don't abuse there powers, the saints guys are very good. We all might not have the same opinion but we are allowed freedom to post our views without being persecuted.

Yep thats how Im starting to think also Ron. Good site for some news but thats about it....but at least I can cath my news here and as you say...the mods are a little more professional in their approach which is great and how it should be.

The mods there are a closed group (with 3 or 4 constantly PMing their pet posters in the background....its a tad incestuous and a shame really)

Thats the weird bit - nothing out of the ordinary compared to some other posters....no warning of an imminent ban or anything???? just got banned after a few posters got chummy with some mods and went to the site administrator (who does a great job - just needs some objective moderators on site).

Shame...was a good site along time ago.

I actually quite like Saintsational.

I find offence with one poster there who floods the board with his (biased) opinion - and I believe that we (Sainter and I) would have stopped him before he dominated the board (if we had we been moderating the site).

I hope that all posters feel welcome here and I hope that everyone is considerate of other posters i.e. tolerant of minor transgressions and holding the belief that we all have something worthwhile to add.

And thats exactly how it should be Stkild - what can not be allowed to permeate a forum is a "closed shop" mentallity....where the "mates rates" apply. You also IMO MUST have a modicum of consistency.

That said, its great to have a forum where common sense...is common.

Childish Jeffery.......... but its exactly that sort of comment that Id expect to see you banned for if we are in keeping with maintaining THIS Boards obvious slant towards open and honest discussion and not muck raking (which everyone knows on both sites your renowned for....).

Still its nice to be home........and Ive been at Bigfooty for a while and yep it does have its ferals (all sites do) its just that THIS Board is a great place to catch saints news - please dont drag it down into the gutter with silly points scoring games.

I obviously totally refute sainter35 AKA Teflon's claims of unfair or biased treatment. What I wont argue with is the amount of rampant egos and people who insist on "having the last word" that are freqenting the board of late..

The amount of mods was increased a few months ago in an attempt to crack down on the amount of name calling and petty cheap shots being fired by a select band of posters. Its very much a case of the majority being p!ssed off with the minority.

Teflons banning (and its not permanent) is one example of trying to stamp this out. There will be others, he was just first and I guess the first to cop a holiday was going to think themselves singled out. Thats simply just not true

Ive been posting on SS off and on for nearly 5 years. Its been a great site, I dont argue though that the standards have slipped somewhat. We hope to return it to its former status and hopefully some of the great posters who left because of a few rampant ego's will return

This board is fairly low traffic and generally has quite an uncontraversial audience.

I also moderate a high traffic aggressive board (Bay 13) so I've seen both sides of the coin.

I am glad moves are being made to straighten Saintsational out and return it to its former glory. I know how hard it is to please everyone. Your problems began when you weren't consistently strict on personal abuse. Things get out of hand too easily and people are quick to anger and slow to forgive/forget.

Anyway - best of luck with your very worthy cause.

I dont think any moderator on any site worlwide would argue with a forums right to ban posters - its their selection criteria and lack of consistency in doing so thats the issue -Saint 66 knows full well Ive been singled out.....he also knows others on that site have given been multiple chances and one in particular due to his close association with certain mods has again - this ought to be called to task.

Its one thing to say "lets have a crack down" and start banning long term posters and an entirely different thing to then approach this in a totally uneven handed way and I might say a little unprofessionally (I never even received an email as to why I was banned ??? I have since found others in exactly the same boat) - Surely this cant be the professinal way to moderate a forum?...indiscriminate crack downs without warning OR without a genuine point to follow up (I was told to contact the web administrator for the site when I was banned- only to be told by mods they werent prepared to give me his email address????)

I do take heart in the many posters who have since contacted me and also expressed their dissapointment at the inconsistent and over "moderation" now occuring on Saintsational -ive been posting there for nearly 8 yrs and never been banned prior?????...ya gotta ask why now?...and why only me?

Hide behind "admin meetings" all you like 66 - you know as well as I (and fortunately many SS regulars as well......) that it stinks of vendetta to high heaven.

As one reecently out it so eloquently....other posters can do nothing but submitt "rolly eyes" and FFS's all day long with constant abuse and baiting...yet wander round scott free - tell me Im making that up 66???...we both know dont we..

St Kild - you have just hit the nail on the head - Saintsational has NO consistency in moderating - they crack down on 1 or 2 posters for a week (this week its me) and allow plenty of others (usually long term friends who one mod decsribed to me as "untouchable") to walk free to abuse whoever they like?

Im not innocent here- not arguing that - but Im hardly Dr Jekkyl nor in the so called "abuse" stakes would I say that Im on my own. What I have done is not been afraid to question moderators efforts publicly and this has cost me "mod friends"- so be it.....I genuinely just miss the site and the fantastic place it was.....now we have 500 mods whove been there 10mins without a clue.....

Well done Stkildonan... hit the nail on the head. Personal abuse is just one issue. I think a lot of intelligent posters have deserted it because of lack of consistency. I've always found that if I raised an issue with a bigfooty mod, it's been always been dealt with.

There maybe bickering there maybe differing of opinion, but one thing that SAintsational is united about is that you Nexus are a troll of the highest order

In my time there you have turned up in numerous "Nexus" guises, but always posting inflammatory rubbish that has the ENTIRE FORUM, not just Mods, screaming for your banning..which has happened

Please,. PLEASE dont come on here purporting to be clean as the driven snow you dill..your SS banning will be ongoing as long as Ive got anything to do with it..and I doubt there'll me ANY fuss made about it

I'm not on SS all the time, but I haven't noticed the mods being unfair or biased. Anyway I would be surprised if if that were so

2 or 3 of the mods have gone out of their way to help me.
The Saintsational mods are very tolerant IMO

I don't post there, but have a read now and again as there is some useful information posted there at times.

They do have their share of troublemakers and your typical forum bully boys.

Don't know if I would class Joffaboy in that group although he is known to be overly aggressive at times.

The two that stand out to me are a guy called Barksforever and Teflon.

If that is you ,sainter35, you should be ashamed of yourself. Not making excuses on here and blaming the mods.

Well interestingly I'm sainter35 on saintsational so don't ban me please saint66au.

I'm a regular visitor to saintsational but don't really contribute too much.
Personally I'm happy to just log in from time to time and get a feeling for what our supporters are feeling without contributing myself.

There does seem to be a lot of bickering between certain parties and it gets really tiresome. I won't mention any names but a few of them just go right out of their way to continue their own personal agendas. I suppose the moderators have to be wary of this because the last thing the site needs is having new posters scared off by this kind of behavior.

We encourage people to have different opinions here and welcome debate and I wouldn't expect saintsational to be any different but there does seem to be a select few who go too far.
