Just wondering with FA coming in this year can you see teams trading away players on high salaries along with a high draft pick to free up salary cap space. Eg carlton trade away Waite and 2nd round pick for say a 5th rounder. This would free up space for Carlton to chase cloke and say team x gets a good draft pick to take on Waite and his high salary. Sorry for the wording this was posted on a wet iPhone so just got it out as well as I could

I don't think we will see it happen this year, as it will be a "testing the waters'" phase but I think it will happen in future years. I actually looked forward to it because it may make for very exciting trade weeks!!

I definitely think it's possible, but AFL clubs are very conservative traders since they're technically answerable to members, unlike NBA and NFL clubs where there are sole owners. It'd take a brave club to pull it, but if it's done once and works you'd see more doing it. If they fail, it'll never be done again and other clubs' supporters will use it as an excuse to laugh at the club. We all know it's true. :)

We kicked Jade Rawlings over to North to get him off the payroll. We accepted a 3 pick downgrade of our third rounder from #46 to #43 which north used on Swallow, and we picked up some guy called Travis Baird.
