Yes it is but like my team did with Matt Kennedy you pay a 3rd round pick and 400k for them not close to a mill a year for 5
He's shown way more than Kennedy ever did, in the position/role we require him for.

Again, the debate is circular as I think he has a higher ceiling than you do.

Which is fine.

It's also easier for an Eastern states based club unless the player is actually from WA

I disagree. Now is the perfect time to trade Berry, from a list management standpoint. He has value, contracted and we have an potential superstar in the wings who is making a serious run for the position. After all, with every passing week it looks more and more likely Dan Curtin is going to be a starting inside midfielder soon (especially as he got 50% CBA's on the weekend and killed it in the monsoonal conditions).

Whilst depth is handy, this isn't someone we should be fighting to retain if another club is desperate.
Plus if you tell WC how good a bloke he is, they might pay half the price of NWM for you

He would be straight into that side.
He is a goer and can play. He played some good games with us and lost his spot due to snapping his Achilles, and hasn't been able to get back in since then.

He did, however he also fell out of our side in 2023-2024, in an era where our midfield was Laird, Dawson along with a hope and a prayer.

Schoenberg is done.

Solid backup mid. We are no good at clearances and he is part of that. Has some good moments breaking from stoppage but overall output is not enough for a centre bounce midfielder
He is a workman in the midfield. He tackles hard, contests and can do something nice here and there. He is the same as the majority of mids in the AFL. Every team has them, and needs them.

Personally I would precist with Draper and get more games into him, but I would take out Taylor and put Draper in for him.

He's playing as a HFF with short mid rotations (from what I've seen. Crows fans to confirm)

He's being held out of the midfield primarily to to the depth of talent and look for dynamic rotations.

You cannot look at averages alone to base judgment

sort of but not really. Played that way earlier in the year and was the sub a lot but has been given a lot of mid time since the bye.

he's good defensively , and has played a tagging role a couple of times.

With proper consistency he probably has a slightly higher level to go to , he's decent grunt 5th inside man but won't ever be a star.

He's a slightly more athletic version of jack graham

Which is what most good teams have. Will be interesting to see if he looks elsewhere or backs himself in to stay in the rotation.
